Keep Skulk Parasite!

<div class="IPBDescription">a few parasite ideas</div>I for one would like to see skulk keep its parasite in NS2. In the skulk reveal, UWE said it thought that it should be the alien commander’s job to be scouting, but I disagree. The skulk has always been the scout class; the class that makes sure the marines aren’t expanding in the remote area of the map.

That being said, I think there should be some functionality that allows parasite to be useful to the alien commander. For instance,

-Parasite could remove the fog of war from the area around the parasited marine or marine structure, allowing the alien commander to view the area.

And/or

- Parasite could allow the alien commander to target the marine, seeing his/her health, armor, weapons, and upgrades.


Here are some other ideas to make parasite more interesting…

-Parasite attaches itself to the brain of the marine, causing him/her to hallucinate. He/she hears random alien sounds (skulks running, gorge oinks, fade blink, etc...). Spooky!

-When the parasited marine reaches very low health the parasite explodes (after a short delay), attempting to finish off the marine.

-Med pack and welding could remove parasite.

    this sounds good to me




    but the hallucination and cheap kill I don't like(para already does damage when hitting marines)

    + for parasite as tactical ability (removing fog of war, revealing upgrades / weapons , showing location in hive sight)

    I don't care if parasite is going to be in as long as skulk is interesting and important role through the whole game. Right now I mostly worry about skulk's job in late game as both parasiting and res biting seem to have less emphasis. Nevertheless I'm confident that they've got a good plan for the game and I can't see a reason why the solution should be exactly the parasite.
