Will you join a NS2 Clan?

If yes, will it be in a multi gaming community or exclusive to NS2?

Will you play one side or both sides in NS2?

Will you be in a clan that use voice communication?

    > Will you join a NS2 Clan?

Probably not, I do not have time for this anymore.

    > If yes, will it be in a multi gaming community or exclusive to NS2?

    Doesn't matter.

    > Will you play one side or both sides in NS2?

    I would play both sides...

    > Will you be in a clan that use voice communication?

    Yes.

Depends a lot on how NS2 is built. I'd definitely like to be in a competetive clan, but at least the original NS takes quite a bit of time before you get to enjoy it at best. If NS2 turns out to be 'yet another indifferent shooter' for me, I doubt I'll be willing to invest all that time to it.

For competetive play both sides and voice communication are a must of course. I don't really care if it's a multigaming one, but it's quite likely that I end up in some group build up from the old Euro NS competetive community.

Definitely looking to join a clan for competitive play. Of course it all depends on how much free time I have, but I really hope so. (Also on the minor chance that NS2 isn't awesome I may change my plans. But I doubt it!)

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->If yes, will it be in a multi gaming community or exclusive to NS2?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

No, I always prefer a specialised clan for any game. Dunno why.

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Will you play one side or both sides in NS2?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    Both sides!

    <!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Will you be in a clan that use voice communication?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Absolutely necessary for competitive play, so of course!

These are both silly questions for anyone serious about playing the game. (people that would join a clan fall into this category ofc.)

I'll probably join a clan, but we'll see. It's good to play along with the same group of people, there's more opportunity to develop individual roles and practice teamwork

Only if NS2 is also made for competitive.
  • DadayaDadaya Join Date: 2005-02-02 Member: 39540Members, Constellation
Interesting choice for a topic. A game like NS, with the immense amount of teamwork involved, usually spawns communities (and clans). Not to mention the fact that this is so established here already (g4b2s, nsplayer, <bad>, etc). Moving along.

    > Will you join a NS2 Clan?

For competitive play? Maybe. Though I am part of a community eager to watch NS2 come out and succeed!

    > If yes, will it be in a multi gaming community or exclusive to NS2?

This isn't really a big issue to me, but more likely than not, I'll be sticking in a multi-gaming community.

    > Will you play one side or both sides in NS2?

Who wouldn't want to be that fat little gorgie and that awesome looking marine?

    > Will you be in a clan that use voice communication?

This one I cannot compromise on, I need my voice com. Some of my best memories are spent in ventrilo.

Back when I was an NSArmslab member I had a lot of fun with that style of play. Not exactly a clan, but more like an organization that definitely knew how to play and would occasionally delve into other games. I was given admin privileges, was free to map for the server, free hosting, and had a small team of people that could help throw out models or textures here and there. Anyone remember the <a href="http://scootrnova.net/features/ns/scoots_portfolio.html" target="_blank">mario kart gorge race</a>? But to answer the thread's questions, I cannot imagine myself trying to go competitive in NS2. I never was quite good enough for that in NS1 anyway.

i think multigaming clan, but who knows?

Will you play one side or both sides in NS2?

i always prefer the harder ones, so i start marine for warmup and then go alien rest of the evening :)
    (with some pauses @the rines :) )

are there some without? ns without is like wow without internet, isnt it?

The voice com question made me laugh.

No, I won't be joining a competitive clan. I don't like scheduling and generally the time investment required. However, if your definition includes groups of friends, then yes, of course.

After being in two failed clans during the time of Unreal Tournament GOTY, I can safely say that I will never be joining a Clan again. Too much drama and competitive play is extremely over-rated. Instead I may join a Guild (Yes! They're different!). It doesn't really matter to me what the Guild plays (as long as one of them is NS2) but I'll need to enjoy playing on their servers. The admins can't be... idiots... and the rules need to make sense and not be too restrictive. Again with the voice communication, it doesn't really matter to me. I'm assuming NS2 will have built in voice communication, so as long as I don't need Vent or TeamSpeak to talk to my team, I'll be okay.

And I will definitely play both sides in NS2, but bein a Gorge will likely be my favorite way to play.

I love competitive play and am constantly striving to become better in every video game I play. I'm sure I won't be any different in NS2, however, I'm unsure if I will have the time investment required to compete at the highest levels. Without the proper amount of time I doubt I will enter into a clan.

I was in my early 20's when I started with NS1, now i'm getting close to 30! So am quite time poor these days - but i'll definitly join a "just for fun" clan and enter some ladders - pub play is great with the right people, but with clan play I enjoy the extra planning and coordination.

    Wait, what?

I've been playing league matches for the last 10 ENSLs or so if you haven't noticed. Mostly Quaxy, some DU and some short lived lower end clans.

Edit: Joined Quaxy 13 January 2006. I think I've been active for the most seasons from that point on.

I'm in a clan that currently supports NS with our own server and will support NS2 once it's released. I'm actually the Natural Selection Division Leader. We will be getting a server immediately once the game is released

Our clan plays other games, but I can bet you for sure, once NS2 arrives, we will probably have a lot of focus on NS2 for awhile.

I will be playing both sides. We're more of a community.

Of course! We also have our very own mumble server for players to hop on and chat.

Send me a PM if you're interested guys!

Will participate in a casual team with mates, or people who i play NS with. Nothing serious, pretty much a pug team. Serious video gaming is a huge waste of time however playing in a ladder/league which requires maybe 1-2 hours a week is good fun.

It depends on whether or not Australia will get a respective amount of servers and how heavy my work load at university will be.

Will definitely like to join a clan that makes the most out of voice.

I don't mind when it comes to community/exclusive. Same goes for single side/both sides.

    I probably won't, but if I do.

I wouldn't care if it was multi-gaming as long as they don't say I have to play other games to stay in the clan(Unlikely, though).

And I'd probably like it if it was an Alien focused clan. But I'm not that bothered by that, either.

    And Voice communication, of course.
It's possible to get away with that in MMOs, but not in FPSs.

    1. Yes. NS is a game that requires alot of co-ordination so it would be smart to play with a usual core group of players.

    2. Depending on how good NS2 turns out I'll probably drop all other games I'm currently playing and focus all my attention on NS2 (assuming its just that good)

    3. Both... Why restrict yourself to only half the game?

    4. ....obviously? Back to the co-ordination thing... if you want to be good its pretty much necessary
