Thanks for this, I've always wanted to play through the old FF games but never really had the time. May donate something to ACT as well, its a good cause.

    That's.. nuts...

Ah gaming. The only kind of marathon where you can spend the entire event on the couch w/ a giant bag of cheetos...

These guys are speed runners, not to mention that they're doing it live so you'll miss stuff. If you really want someone else to play through the FF games while you watch I recommend HCBaily's excellent FF LPs: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=HCBail...;view=playlists

Current donations are at $6740/$20000. Currently it is 4:00pm central on Sunday and Phil is finishing up FF5. Gwellin is up next playing FFIII on the DS which he estimates will require 15 hours. Currently Local has played the longest finishing FFII in 22 hours.

Oh, the games are being played out of order, but there is a rough schedule available here: http://www.thespeedgamers.com/final-fantasy-marathon-details

Note: The commentators watch the chat and will occasionally do stuff for money.

The stream server really isn't holding up very well with the amount of traffic, cuts out pretty often for me. Or it could be my wireless network screwing with me, again.

It has had some trouble in the past half hour or so, but otherwise it usually isn't that bad. Just keep hitting the TSG button.

The donations are nearing $12,000 thanks to the commentators promising to drink vegemite milkshakes for every extra $1000 reached before 8:00pm Central.

They reached their goal of $20,000 early, and so have raised the bar to $50,000. They have done, and continue to do, horrific things with Vegemite for our entertainment. Also, I won a plushie.

I'm reminded of Desert Bus for Hope. I hope they do that again this year.

How can you watch a bunch of movies interspersed with gameplay faster?

    *ducks*

    Cool thing they're doing though.
