Charlie gave me a little time to answer a bunch of questions I had seen pop up on IRC and the forums. A lot more technical stuff (like the engine) and how the game will work.

You can check it out over at the yearly update of <a href="http://www.readyroom.org/" target="_blank">http://www.readyroom.org/</a> .

    Are you serious? The game is roughly 4 months from launching and it seemed like every answer was "Not sure", "Don't know yet", "Maybe", "We're looking into that."

    Still no screenshots?!?

    I wonder if there is any particular reason they decided not to use Shader Model 3.0? It's about 5 year old technology now.

    The fact they're not using shader model 3.0 now explains why the game can run on such low system requirements. The step up between them in terms of pc performance is massive. Doesn't really look all that different anyway, just not as shiny.

    That interview doesn't really answer anything, i'm not sure whether they just dont know or dont really wanna give away answers to a few of those questions.

    Yeah, it was a very informal Q&A, didn't expect too much.
    And I guess the game looks pretty damn good considering its using 2.0, even though 4.0 is currently available (DX10)

    It does give us a few good answers. I'm sure with some things they would rather not say then have people whining if it changes during release. It's better then no information anyway <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    <!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->What shader model is the engine using? 2.0 or 3.0?

    2.0.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    Does that mean it cannot be modified in the future to use 3.0 or newer shader? (as in that would be too hard and will require a lot of work)

    I know Cod:WaW has a cvar that allows you to run it in shader 2.0/3.0. But 2.0 is all black and doesn't display anything, but i guess it USED to be there and they must of removed it.
