I look at the SE not as the 'Special Edition' but the Standard Edition. And I call Standard the LE, Light Edition <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Same here, otherwise whats special about it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> You pay 40$ now or you pay 40$ later, and it wouldent coax anyone to spend more, seeing as the 20$ gets you the same game.

There's still the Black Armour.
Either they will lower the price of the Special Edition with the Black Armour, maybe even add some other perks such as a hidden Forum or something, or they'll cease selling the Special Edition, after the Alpha or Beta is over, altogether, making the people who bought the Special Edition somehow Veterans. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
I think it should stay around until launch at least, or forver <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> (I guess black armor being the only bonus at that point, and helping the devs of course). The more money they can make the better for them.
While I want the Dev's to make as much money as possible, I also want something special that lets everyone know I preordered the game and was one of the first. So leave the $40 package up, but gives us who preordered it something special after release.
I know it sounds selfish, but, hell, that's what I want! haha

I think a big problem with not keeping the special edition is that people are going to come onto the forums and complain that they can't get black armor.

Well not to be mean but why should someone complain when they had such a open window to get the special edition version? Besides, if someone complains:
"Dude! I want tat blak armor jus like these one dudes I seen on that one map back a few games earlyer. Its no fare that I dun have that. I h8 this gaem!"
Personally even if i didnt try to emulate someone who i know would use that exact sentence... The meanings the same. Its not anyones fault. Why not reward the people who put 40$ worth of trust into the pre-ordering? It just makes sence to me if this happens.
The standard edition becomes the regular, SE dissapears. Regular price is now 30$, the middle of what Pre-ordering SE and Standard. Unknown worlds dosent really lose money in a general aspect.
Reasoning: Alot of games that you pre-order give you special things that you cant get if you just purchase it after the pre-ordering time. Usually there is some type of discount to the price as well. Usually.
Either way, I'm sure Unknownworlds will do whats best for itself. ^_^

Once the game (v1.0) is released they should just remove the pre-order option entirely, and have a $30.00 price point for the game. You can pre-order early and get the game cheap for $20.00, or wait till its released and pay a bit more. They will sell a lot of copies for $30.00

yes, and isnt 30$ a good price? Its not too high, and definately not under-cutting the Developers. I think we kinda have the same Idea aero.
The black armour has a very high chance of not being available once the game is finally released. How this will affect the price of the game, I do not know. If you want the black armour, I'd buy it before Fall 2009 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
SE is for pre-order only, so i assumed as soon as it is released then u will only be able to buy normal, however i wouldnt mind if the devs put the price of the armor up to 100 bucks...

100$? No, They should just discontinue selling the armor. 100$ isn't reasonable by any standard just for some texture/armor.
Also, when the pre-order is done I see the price of the standard raising up 10$ as I've stated before. The dev's wouldn't lose much money if they remove the Special Pre-order, and people who bought the Standard edition would be rewarded for their pre-order as well. Its a Win-Win on a fair standard.
Odd. I had always assumed special edition would only last until launch, or maybe only beta. And the only benefit one would gain onward is the black armour, and perhaps other recognition, but I think the black armour does the trick. And I think this is the best way. Hmm, think I might go get my pre-order soon...

for being a fan of Southpark all I can say to this is:
... and it's GONE !
Just persuade your dad that you should invest your money in something that wont loose all its value in about 10 years from now on. Okay a pc game might not be a good investation (misspelled pun intended) but this game is going to be so awesome that you might just resell your black armor on ebay for tripple the price you actually bought it for and get yourself a normal copy.

My mom needed to use all the money :/
Her car is having problems with gas and she needs to get it fixed. Plus I don't think I can buy anything until I get a card to pay for stuff which is going to be like 2-3 weeks.

No, is it realy important?
I guess you can order the special edition until the game is released.
