<a href="http://dslyecxi.com/bestoftactical.html#I" target="_blank">http://dslyecxi.com/bestoftactical.html#I</a> - 2nd Video under Mantling

If you are standing in front of something in a high and size that you could climb up, you just press jump and you'd do so. (nearly as if you could do it in real, in point of high, realism etc.)
This gives more realism, and an easy and faster way to reach - or pass objects in your way. Walls, boxes, cars as exaple, and even if you jump at a wall with a window or funnel, and the window gets in climbing range after jumping - its climable.

- This would give a lonely marine the possibility to reach places easier thant in ns1 where you needed someone else to cower for you, even if this places only where a few inches to tall...
- Would give the benefit to reach places even higher in case you combine it with the old way and a dude is helping you. (to get that annoying lerk harrassing you and getting away all the time)

You can counter argue get a gl, mines, etc, but it would also give a bit more tactical options and more freedom in moving around and feeling more realism - why do i have to waste the res for just one little lerk, if i could just climb up and kill em like a real man, or get killed in trying to do so because he just waited to bite my head of ^^

What do you think? Why wouldn't it be cool to climb?

kind regards from austria!

Mantling. Although, it's different from climbing since the highest you can "climb" in Call of Duty is waist-high walls. Climbing to reach over walls well over waist height is more reminiscent of Killzone, albeit with a more scripted fashion.

Yes it would be a nice aesthetic touch. But if you are thinking of reaching higher places, then it wouldn't really work. Mainly because the mappers would know that this feature and those places they would want to remain inaccessible, they would just make it even higher.

there are objects and places you wouldnt make higher just to dont allow marines getting up,
also mappers could change their view and implement such places to make it a situational/tactical feature early game. (sneaking that tunnel leading to a res behind, to cut of some structure in other rooms, aliens could do so too... and i dont think every funnel will be weldable...)
its a way to feel much more motional freedom, like we do as aliens...

sadly, in the end it can be done in a lot ways - so ya its more aesthetical than gamebreaking. :/
