I don't think it matters, if you pre-ordered you're getting the black armor. who cares about anything else? I mean, this is a different game.

I would love to keep my Icon. NS2 wouldn't be the same without it.. =D

I asked Max about this and he said they were unsure what they were going to do with constellation and NS2 at this time. Sorry I can't be more helpful. I am sure they will make an announcement once they do.

Especially for those of us who have only recently donated to Constellation, to help their twittered financial worries.
Ah well, guess it's my own peace of mind that counts.

I would be highly surprised if PT tags or consti tags made a voyage to NS2.

I originally donated as consti in 1.04 just to pay 20 dollars so support a FREE game that i play more than any other retail game that i've purchased. Tag was just a bonus!

Now thats its a pay to own game, not sure if a donator icon is that appropriate.

I would be extremely suprised if constie icons were kept for NS2. Bottom line is that constellation was meant for NS1, not NS2.

The Constellation Icon was always there to show who was willing to support a free game, pay for something when you didn't have to. I wouldn't been surprised to see it back again.

I think Constellation was meant for for the developer team rather than the actual game. The benefit of donating is that you would be supporting the developer team and by extension whatever project they were working on at the time. In a way, all the Constellation members I feel have helped move UWE financially towards this point and they still likely purchased the SE package. I donated later in the game (some time after NS2 was announced, I think) but donated for two reasons. One, I could finally get a Constellation tag beside my name while I played (and really, many servers didn't display them for whatever reason anyways). The other reason is that Natural Selection gave me so much and I felt like I should repay the favor.

AFAIK, Constellation members got no special perks other than the special icon beside your name both in-game and on the forums as well as a private forum (which we won't discuss... because... well... we just won't discuss it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />). The private forums are however (not going to give out too much "secret" information here...) not in their own category called "Constellation." They are indeed under the Natural Selection heading which I think implies that Constellation members will only get special perks while playing the original flavor of NS and that anything Constellation related belongs to that category.

If anything though I think Constellation members should get some sort of "recognition" for donating that is carried over into NS2. A badge or something (perhaps... part of a larger "badge" collection aspect of the game?). A special taunt. Anything really.

I'd really love it if my constie badge carried over into NS2, seeing that's apparently how charlie lived for a while.

I'll be a bit disapointed if it didn't but it's not a huge loss.

Since I supported UWE and not NS, I'd appreciate the Consti Icon in NS2, and since it's using Steamworks they have the SteamID anyway...

Meh - if I get any constellation in NS2 it'll be a bonus, i'm not expecting or requesting it in the least.

Same for me, but may I still point it out? Thanks.

^^ This. It'd be nice if it carried over, but I'm not expecting it. Although I can see the argument from those that donated more recently, I didn't even realize the Constellation program was still going in that respect.

Perhaps they could put a time check in there. If you donated before a certain date, you get 1 color (blue) and if you donated after that date, you get another color (green?)

I donated a long while ago and forgot the contact info for it.

I don't really know if it should stay or not tbh.

NS2 is new, fresh and this could be something that is seen as no longer a part of UW.

On the other side, Consti is a part of UW's history and ultimately aided in supporting the follow through into NS2 (not finacialy, but kept ns1 going to get to this point in time), and would be a shame to see it be pushed to one side.

Hmm now I've just typed that, I'd like to see it stay, or be revamped in some way. It's a very important piece of history, I have doubts as to NS2 being persued without it's support (maybe wrong but meh).

Now if the topic was about Vet Icon's, leave it in the bin where it belongs.

Pfft, do you think you people who donated are something better than the rest of us? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

I think they should carry it over if it’s not too much work even if it's some little dot. Why you ask? Because if it wasn't for people donating for ns1 to get the great updates then ns2 wouldn't be around. Just have it check the server if they got the true value show off some local stored graphic. I am not sure how they are doing accounts but if they are all server stored then you could also have other icons.
    Just my 2 cents
