Exactly how much health does a hive have? And at what rate (health per second) does it regenerate?

I was able to take out a hive with just my lmg (full ammo) and pistol, minus a few rounds i wasted killing a wondering skulk.

I think it might have been a bit damaged, but I don't really know.

I would like to hijack this thread with the following idea:

Give the aliens a 'health' indicator for hive status, instead of just alive/dead/under-attack/building status... It's hard to tell how close your hive is to death.

When you hear "Our hive is under attack", your hive is being hurt, but not near dead.
When you hear "Our hive is dieing", get back and save it now, it's on its last legs!

Maybe there should be a chamber that increases the max health of all players and structures, but on spawn/build, must be healed up either by defense chamber/hive, or a gorge. Kind of an anti-nerf to combat the now-nerfed alien armor.

If it heals itself as much as it heals aliens, it would be about 8 HP per second.

The hive at the top right flashes faster the close it is to death doesnt it?

The hive has about 3000 hp. I know this from the team_hive from mapping. Maybe its the same, but who knows for sure except for Flayra.

I think it's actually closer to 6000 health.
