Telling by the half official Comments from some of the Staff here I doubt they'll NDA this.

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Either way if you donated then you will have supported the developer team, and you will have your constie icon for NS1.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I don't realy understand where the difference is. Constellation Members paid for it, and NS2 will use the Steamcloud for Friends, which requires you to log into Steam this or that way, and they can poll your SteamID through it...

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->I'd be seriously upset if they slapped a NDA on this.
I spent $40 and there was no mention of a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
If it is the case that there is a NDA then I'm sorry, I may not play this game at all.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

That's a pretty retarded reason, as you'd actually be wasting your money at that point.

I could care less if there is an NDA. If there is fine, I'll test and not talk about what we test. If there isn't' I'll talk about it. Simple as that.

I'm really looking forward to participating in the alpha and beta process of this game. I'm a long time fan of the original NS, at least, before co_ came along. I'm prepared to hype up the game where it's great and speak my mind on areas that need improvement. People rarely have the chance to participate in the development process and now I've got the opportunity to force my way into the development process with a few extra dollars to be a part of making a game I loved years ago even better for new players a few months from now? I'd be rather disappointed to lose this opportunity.

I don't think anyone is really expecting the full game. A single map with full playability is generally what you expect at an alpha stage. And then you expect a lot of stuff to be broken or half-working at best. I don't see any problem with being able to playtest a game early for extra money. UW needs the extra cash I'm sure and want both the chance to help out and the chance to meddle in the tools ahead of the rest.

I guess we suddenly live in a world where $40 means something. :/
I've bought games that I never intend to play just because they wouldn't become available anymore. What I do with my money is my decision, you're retarded for judging other people based on that. If I don't want to play a game I bought it's my decision, go suck a ######.

It's up to the development team how they are and we are all aware they are very coverted and secret. So it's just a case of you have to wait until the Fall to play NS2 if you can't contain yourself to not spreading images around the internet?

Without the alpha and beta who will make sure the dev team doesn't ###### up movement?

    Not to mention the netcode.

I purchased the Special Edition version specifically so I could aid in bug hunting and game balancing. I would hope that an NDA would be slapped on it for two reasons:
    1. I think most NDAs are created to both keep in-house tech from leaking out too early. I think UWE wants a certain amount of control over what actual NS2 content gets released to the general public. Free advertising is awesome, but only up until it ruins your plans for world domination.

    2. What harm would an NDA do? I believe it would only strengthen the idea that it would be an alpha/beta that we would be experiencing. Generally speaking, such things are released in the hopes that players will be attempting to find bugs and suggest better balancing fixes. We won't specifically be playing the game for "fun" (although, it would most likely be extremely fun), but to help get the game in the best state as possible.

With that said, I don't believe the Special Edition purchase mentioned anything about what kind of alpha/beta access we'll be having. Hell, it could simply mean that everyone who purchased the special edition merely has the chance to get into the alpha/beta, following perhaps a draw or submission of an essay/resume. We also don't know what kind of alpha it would be. There may very well be a closed alpha for a select few individuals before the more public alpha is released.

I just assume there will be some NDA agreement, its nice to be able to see something others cant <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />. I imagine before you download/install there will be some kind of agreement. Alphas/Betas are there primarily for testing so I hope there is an NDA to shelter from someone complaining and creating bad press about expected problems. Anyway $40 is still cheaper then most retail games you see nowadays, it is a bargain as far as I am concerned.
