Most of us who pre-ordered on the first day have a huge amount of respect for UWE, and NS2 is right up there at the top of our most-anticipated list.
Buying the Special Edition for me was one way to say a big thank you (together with Constellation) to these guys, and it seems most others who pre-ordered were expressing themselves in the same way.
PLUS, who could say no to <b>authentic, custom-made, black Marine armour?</b> I wouldn't dare.
It'd be interesting to see the raw sales data, I hope NS2 sells well!

Seems about 95% of the player will have black armour now ^_^.
Just wish they would add something to aliens to give it a feel.. like they did with the black marine armour!

no but seriously, was no question about it for me, chose SE to support this awesome team and a (hopefully) awesome product.
and even in the impossible scenario that ns2 is bad, i consider ns1 alone easily be worth that money.

I registered this account newly today since my old account no longer reflects the ingame nickname i use. Some of you might be remember me from cal. I used to be in clan penguin under the nickname nosferatu. Used to play on armslab a lot cuz i had a reserved slot.
Anyway i have been steadily following the ns.org page for a while now and needless to say i was ecstatic when i saw pre-orders were open. If NS2 turns out to be just as enjoyable competitive as NS1 was i'll probably have a stab at it.

It's also a really great move to give people public recognition for their support. Seriously, more people would do good deeds if this was always the case!
There'll probably be cool icons in the score list, just like with the constie program. The black armor is icing on the cake.
But what about the aliens? Is there no way to tell who is a passionate fan on the alien team?
Maybe their eyes could glow a different color or something?
I also need those map making tools because the engine gives me wet dreams.
