<div class="IPBDescription">help please</div> <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> when i try to go onto a server is says some client.dll does not match the servers.. im completley new to NS and wanted to play with my friends.. i downloaded v1. and then v1.3 and extracted it to the palces said... i put in some dlls thing but didnt see any client.dlls or what ever... so if you can understand what i have a prob with pllease help! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Reinstall NS. Dont download 1.03 unless you want to run a server, just download the client.

    well i reinstalled it and i am still getting the same **obscenity**.. cannot load library C:/SIERRA blah blah blah... should i just keep tring to reinstall? <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Are you, perchance, trying to launch the game from the default desktop icon?

    As Od1um pointed out, the 1.03 patch is for servers ONLY.

    no im activating it through counter-strike and i took out the whole thing and didnt reinstall .03

    You probably just downloaded the server patch which doesnt allow you to run the game.. If you did not get a walk threw exe and had to move files with a ZIp you have the server patch.. Uninstall all of that go to N-s.org and download the game, not the server patch.. It will be a .exe, not zip!

    i did download the .exe on the first try.. i got that **obscenity**.. then i installed .03 and i now know that it dont work... so i uninstalled and downloaded the .exe and it didnt work.. what the **obscenity**!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    hmmm...

    did you uninstall it before??

    take these steps:
    uninstall what you have.
    Install the .exe to your directory C:\Sierra\Half-Life or C:\Sierra\Counter-Strike


    change your desktop shortcut to the following - C:\Sierra\Half-life\HL.exe -game ns -console

    or

    C:\Sierra\Counter-Strike -game ns -console for CS



    Does it work now??



    I think that installing 1.03 will mess it up.. so if you want both then make two seperate directorys.






    If nothing works I really have no idea what the problem could be, are you running any skins or anything that was not included with the game in the game?

    #1 Downloading the patch will no mess-up your NS. (I downloaded and installed it fine)

    #2 You must have downloaded the SERVER version of NS. Go find the client version and come back to see how it went.

    #3 If #2 is incorrect (you downloaded the client version) then, I dont know what to tell you.

    I had to install the 1.03 patch on my client system to play on _ANY_ server that has consistency checking enabled. I believe it has something to do with the Valve Hi-Def pack. Its good to try it without the patch first, and if you have problems then add the 1.03 patch.

    I can't see any harm that would come from installing the 1.03 patch on a client system. Since all client systems are capiable of running as a server.
