Keep the Good from the Old?

I was playing good ol'fashion NS(1) last night on a server with additional plugin content. The plugins added additional levels up to level 50 instead of 10, and an Xmenu that had more upgrades in a few varieties, like static shock, nano-self repairing armor, uranium ammo, larger ammo packs, and so on and so forth for both marine and aliens alike.

The question is: is NS2 going to expand upon some of upgrades and leveling to make it go further like these plugins do? Can you describe any possible plans for the upgrades at this point?

Well what you just described is for combat (co_*maps*) not classic ns (ns_*maps*). The devs are NOT developing a combat game mode for NS2 and have stated this many times, theres a good chance it is in the faq. So NS2 will not expand upon combat and xmenu etc. There is always the possibility that someone will create a combat mod for NS2 post launch.

    God I hope not.

    Death to custom ns rubbish.

Sorry, I a little late on this bandwagon. At least thats good news though. I like Classic mode the most and I'm glad it's the focus, and yes I don't doubt custom plugins and such. It always happens, especially with the whole LUA thing which I sure imagine will contribute. I look forward to that map editor myself.

    Now hopefully they expand upon the Upgrades in Classic mode <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
I'm sure they have already anyway, I don't doubt NS2 will be any less than addicting.

Sorry for noobing all over the thread.
