Framerate Issues

<div class="IPBDescription">New graphics driver problem maybe?</div>Sup,

So I upgraded my GeForce drivers a couple months ago, and ever since then my framerate drops to ###### in combat, really really bad. I mean in combat sometimes it drops to 10. My 8800 Ultra should be able to play the game at... what, 500 fps? So it's getting pretty annoying.

Any ideas as to what's up? I'm using:
Windows XP 32
Quad 6600
8800 Ultra
4*1 gigs of ram

i have or rather "had" the same problem even with my gtx 280 its not your card its not your game its your graphics drivers, if you want to fix this, downgrade to the 178 drivers if you need a link, here.

    <a href="http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_178.24_whql.html" target="_blank">http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_178.24_whql.html</a>

to downgrade go to add, remove programs then select nvidia drivers, check remove selected and then check ONLY nvidia display drivers, remove this, remember to download the 178 installer before, reset your computer after you remove the drivers, then install the 178 file, then reset again, BOOM it should work perfectly

Bah, I guessed I'd need to roll back to an older driver, but I'm trying to find a way aroudn that problem. I play lots of new games so the new drivers are useful, and I'd prefer to not have to jump back and forth between new and old depending on which game I want to play.

    Alas, if no one's found a work-around, I guess I don't have a choice.
