I think you would say " Kharran" as in " I was eaten by a Canadian" instead of "I was eaten by a Canada". Unless you were. I may be wrong though.

P.S. Dark Tower rules, I am The Walkin Dude ingame.

Khaara is similar to the word deer in that it can mean one or more than one.

I think "critter" works well, even for Onii.

    What about 'Khar'?
  • TheGunslingerTheGunslinger Join Date: 2002-11-10 Member: 8126Members
"I was ran over by a Khar"
Works for Onii, but not for anything else.

I think the plural of Khraraa is Kharaa, and the plural of Onos is still Onos.

    One Kharaa, Two Kharaa.

One Onos, Two Onoses. The normal english way of pluralising a word which ends with an s. Or maybe One Onos, Two Onos, I don't know.
But not Onii. Why on earth would it be Onii? Don't tell me it's latin, because if you say that, you're really clueless about latin. A word ending with "-os" could never even be a singular word in latin, unless it was from the mixed declination, in which case the plural would be Oneres or something like that (there isn't a solid rule for how the beginning of the plural from of a mixed declination word changes, but the end is always "-es")

I actually think One Ono, Two Onos is the most logical, since the name came from a scared human yelling "Oh no!" over the radio.

its like moose... i mean you can try to make moose plural by saying meeces (i.e. mouse is mice, mouse is meece and s for plural) but any way you look at it, it still gonna be a moose

You knobs. You don't say anything if you've been eaten. It's a trick question!

    So no, it's not correct

I have always said Ono and Onos, but Nazgul's page said Onii, so I have been adapting.

    Manual to the rescue:

QUOTE

From Kharaa Data
The Kharaa will work together to defend their hives, or attack a large force or well defended base. Otherwise, it's each Kharaa for itself, gestating, evolving, and behaving according to their own objectives. Hit-and-run, ambush, and blitz tactics are common – but just as often, a Kharaa will bulk up and go toe-to-toe with any foe it can find. But for the unifying presence of the bacterium and hive sight, they would be little more than aggressive (and cunning) animals.

Kharaa is correct for both singular and plural.

QUOTE

From Kharaa Data :: Species: Onos
Summary: The dreadnaughts of the Kharaa, the Onos are tanks – highly armored and very powerful. They are so large they cannot use crawlspaces and many of the narrow passages found on human ships and bases. This does not limit their effectiveness very much – the Onos is the highest level response to any threat, requiring large amounts of resources to gestate, but paying off with truly awe-inspiring strength.

Onos is, again, both singular and plural. It's a mystery to me where this Nazgul person got the term "Onii"....

"There were many Onos' " (Oh-know-ce)

You say potatoe and I say potato because its the correct english spelling of it.
You say eggplant and I say obergine because thats a vegetable and eggplant was made up by lincoln on an acid trip.

    Oops went off topic,

    in summary,

    Kharaa, Onos', an hive room
