To record the video and audio of a whole game with FRAPS would take gigs of data and impact on performance, not something you want while your playing a competitive game. You certainly wouldn't record a 45 minute game speculatively, just in case something interesting happened as you can with a more efficient built in recording system.
As for demos, I’d stick with the old fashioned HL way of recording demos, just that it should be like it when you were watching HLTV demos (so that you can actually choose the player you wanna watch, their angle, anything) - plain HL demos were way too flat.
Savage 2 has this system that EVERY game ever played is being stored in their replay database. Kind of not neccessary if you ask me, especially their problems when it comes to competitive games - some fail to get recorded while some completely boring game does.
To add to this point, you have to pay for fraps.
You've already paid for the game, and other titles in the same genre include inbuilt demo systems.
