Natural Selection 2 Mapping, Downloads & Tutorials.

www.NS2Res.com is aimed at NS2 editing as well as becoming a central repository for all files related to NS2. We will be offering the following:

- Download Files
- Upload Files
- Tutorials (Mapping, Modeling, Scripting, etc)
- Forums (Everything related to NS2 Editing)
- Latest News

If you guys have any suggestions or questions feel free to ask.

    Good effort, perhaps a bit premature.

    If you want to get it populated for NS2's release, you might want to set up some sort of automatic newsfeed so all the NS2 updates (+ Twitters) are shown on the news section of the site. That way you have regular content at least and the site doesn't look empty, and people will have something to talk about on the forums and a reason to sign up.

    Also putting together some sort of media section with all released images for NS2 would be good for NS fans to browse without having to go through news items.

    Cheers for the ideas, setting up some sort of Gallery section was on my list of 'to dos' so i will definitely get that going at some point shortly. The RSS feeds from their twitter page will be easy to setup; should be able to h ave that done by the end of the week.

    This will be potentially be a great resource and advertising it early helps its presence.

    I was a little disappointed to find out it's a run-of-the-mill php-nuke installation, though.

    Yeah the main focus of the site will be to have as much information about the new level editor as possible.

    Yeah i know what you mean, but im no coder and at the moment it seems to be doing fine for what is needed, will see how things go.

    I noticed your site a couple of hours later and was like oh he wasn't serious haha <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    I just made some changes to the RSS feeds, i have stopped them from scrolling and i have also made only the five latest show at a time. Much better <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    Any other suggestions?

    I feel as if I should create something custom for NS2 to get the ball rolling but it is just too early! Not even got a media pack to make pissy wallpapers with either!

    Its a nice site, but some more community interaction would be nice. I would recommend creating some podcasts discussing potential features and other things that the players would love to see and not see in the game.

    Podcasts I find get people interested with the fans having more interactivity beyond the traditional forums

    Yeah i know what you mean, We don't really have much to go on at the moment but hopefully they send something our way real soon. I always get the urge to create levels in google sketchup and once the editor is released use that as a baseline for my design.

    I might wait a little bit before we get anything like this going, at the moment alot of the NS2 community has disappeared from what it use to be. Once there are some signs of life (NS2TR, NS2 Beta, etc) or something along those lines to draw the players back, then i will look at getting this kind of thing going.

    Dude serious. You got to be kidding me. Look at the text size in your website. You're trying making us blind? The text size is WAY to small. ENLARGE it. Make a script for having same size for all solution on LCD screen.

    Yeah i can't add much content to it yet because there isn't much content out for NS2.

    At the moment this is the best i can do with the amount of time/experience i have. Once things get started a bit more then i will look at what options i have then.
