I have always been a fan of NS, and loved the original. The art design and technology so far presented are impressive, and incredible looking. But one thing I believe the devs should implement in the game to increase immersion and general presentation is Object-motionblur . If anyone does not know what it is see Crysis on Very High DX10, Lost Planet, Killzone, Resident evil 5, cryostasis. This feature looks incredible and cinematic and increase the hectic-ness of gameplay. Not only that, but it makes animations look much smoother and realistic (the blur is applied to individual moving objects, hence, hands moving blur in a realistic way). I do not know how hard it is to implement, but there are many articles online and I believe it can be done both in dx10 and 9 (as shown by resident evil and lost planet). Please consider this thread whole heartedly, I really feel this feature is just brilliant and if executed, gorgeous eye-candy <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

As for the requirements, if you say it's in dx 10, I'd say it's quite feasible in that sense, as most features available in the dx either have to be relatively painless to pull off on most graphics cards today.
Don't see any reason why they wouldn't have it if not for time purposes. I've always found it interesting how since the invention of the computer up until about 15 years ago, focus has been all about improving graphics and making it look more precise. In the last 15 years, antialiasing and camera focus and movement blur have all been introduced not for precision but for realism.
And incidentally, welcome to the forums.
Once again, thanks for the welcome to the forum.
It looks cool, but again, this is a multiplayer game where gameplay comes first. They needed a lighting system, so they coded a nice one. They don't need motion blur. In fact, in my experience motion blur makes things feel floaty so I'd turn it off even they put it in.
My opnion is, I don't know, depends how difficult is to implement this. If is hard, it's just eyecandy, forget it. If it's easy, it can be let as one of the last things to try put. Who like motionblur uses it. Who doesn't (PseudoKnight) or can't support (probably me), don't use it.
Once again, thanks for the welcome to the forum.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
yay new people!
Anyways, the devs have proven on several occasions to read these threads. =] They are silently watching us....
Back on topic, I doubt they will be going pure DX10 on first release. They're aiming for a broad entry point. It's also, as mentioned, mostly purely aesthetic to support Dx10. While cool, I strongly doubt it's high on the priority list of things to do.
Granted, things like good animations and clean UI are essential. If people get turned off by the initial look, they're unlikely to get to the good stuff. However, I don't think they want to sell NS2 as a high-end tax your uber PC game.
