<div class="IPBDescription">new alien class which can lay eggs</div>i think the topic name says the most and im lazy so ill start by a list of thoughts^^

the queen is a very expensive class/alien which cant attack on its own
only 1 active queen in 1 team!
it can create AI aliens instead of any attack
every mini-alien costs about 1-2ress
when the queen is laying eggs or creating an alien it cant move for a moment (maybe 5seconds)
these AI-aliens will die after 1-2minutes
the AI-aliens could have following attributes:
1. slow, little damage, avarage HP
2. slow, avarage damage, little HP
3. slow, avarage damage, avarage HP
4. fast(maybe flying), nice damage, little HP(but they are fast and hard to hit)

all upgrades for the queen will do a similar effect on its mini-aliens

another idea:
maybe the queen has only 3 mini-aliens to choose and the second is an attack for showing the mini-aliens where to go (like these smell bombs in HL2^^)

hope my english is "readable" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    please use the search function.

the idea of a queen was already discussed. over 4 times.

and why would someone want to play queen when they can go fade?
also, everything is spawned from the hive, there is no queen.

for example im not a fade player and im always trying to help my team as a gorge...

    i would prefer to play queen so because it would be funny <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

but you are right with the hive... the hive is the real queen so its a bad idea^^

Wow it's been awhile since i've been on here. Anyways I think the hive itself should be able to turn into a queen like coming out of a cacoon kind of thing. Very slow but same health as the hive and very strong attacks. It would mean that there are few ways around the map and it could be trapped in areas and killed. It's lack of mobility would make it more vulnerable and balance out it's massive strength. While on the move it cannot spawn players and makes slurping noises and leaves a sort of slime trail behind it. A gorge could perhaps merge with the hive to create a queen and exit when it has found a suitable place to relocate the give. The queen could emit any number of different spores or smokescreens, somthing to offset the fact that it is such a massive and easy to hit target.

Just give gorges the babbler ability back, and make it cost resources instead of energy.

Yer this sounds pretty much like babblers, these were fun at the time but just didn't prove to be any good.

I think that if a "Queen" was implemented at all into NS2, then it would be best as a player class, that acted simply as a slow moving, sluggish, forward spawn for the aliens that automatically healed nearby teamates at half the speed of a hive. It would be much more useful when the aliens were planning a rush, but would have to be escorted by a team member. Movement chambers would not bring lifeforms to the player controlled "Queen".

The "Queen" would be best to have a weak attack, and some team-assisting ones. For example: If a Queen was killed and the aliens have only 1 hive, some poison gas like that of a lerk will diffuse into the air around it. If the Aliens had 2 hives, then all nearby aliens in the gas would get something similar to "primal scream" as well as the gas appearing. If the Aliens had 3 hives, then combined with the other two abilities, when the Queen was killed, all dead aliens would spawn on her body.

On the downside she would have 80% Gorge speed, and would have a health amount somewhere between fade and onos.
    Estimated resource cost: 50-75

Overview: This class would serve mostly as a player controlled moving hive that had 10% of the health, could move(slowly) cost ~65 res, and caused huge bonuses to the nearby teamates when killed, so marines would have to shoot it down, but knifing would be a bad idea.
If the "Queen" was implemented, then it would require a huge amount of teamwork to keep alive, and to kill.

The queen idea posted above....sucks, sorry to say, and I don't see it ever fitting into NS2 all so well........
