"wall Of Lame" - Correct Me If I'm Wrong

<div class="IPBDescription">but I do believe I coined that phrase ..</div> After much searching of the forums for "wall of lame", "wall" and "lame", I do believe I was the first to refer to the stacking of Kharaa chambers as a "Wall of Lame".

They had been previously referred to as "Stacked Chambers", "Chamber Forests", and "Forests of Lame" - but I typed "Wall of Lame" in a post once ... and it stuck.

Can I take credit for this? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Sure ya can. Using MLA format, we'll all make sure to credit you every time the phrase is used. For Example:

    "Some gorge built a "Wall of Lame"(Merc) in the Viaduct Hive"

    Hes right. I am going to put a copyright sigh © next to it each time its used....you think I am joking...well only partially. No more walls of lame© for me...see, I did it. Oh yes....copyright your phrases while you can ladies and gents.

    I am hereby copyrighting "In the face", as its the best saying ever.

    You know what I mean. Sheesh.

    Last thing I want is for other people to get anal-retentive about it. Leave that to me. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Just so you understand - my name is not "Bill Gates" - I'm not looking to trademark WoL's or collect royalties everytime someone says it, or create an AdminMod package to add a disclaimer.

    I just wondered if I was the first person to name them as such, and why it caught on so fast.

    I thought that was a local North Texas thing... I had never heard it, but now everyone around here says it.

    During programming class, whenever we'd get a fatal exception or whatever, our professor would say "Eh, let's just kill this in the face and see what's wrong."

    Actually, we've been using that phrase since early testing. So, you didn't coin it. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Actually, I don't remember if it was Forests of Lame, or Walls of Lame that was used in playtesting. It's still lame either way. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I'd always seen "Forests of Lame". I had to explain "Wall of Lame" when I typed it that one time.

    But I agree. Still lame either way. But bloody effective in the right spots (just around a highly-webbed corner)

    You guys, you are playing far too rough here. He was only asking if he was really the first one to use it, he did in no way imply that he wanted everyone to have some sort of copyright syble next to it everytime someone says it. Be nice to the others, please

    "Merq"? That's a new one. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Yeah, it's all in good fun. Unless they're personal attacks, I don't pay any heed to them <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
    And if they are, then get back in OT and we'll have a Flame-Off.
