NS2 Scenarios?

Will there be a single player mode in NS2? That would be nice, since i always lose connection on the multi-player mode.
And will there be new aliens? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tiny.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::onos::" border="0" alt="tiny.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/lerk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::lerk::" border="0" alt="lerk.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pudgy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::gorge::" border="0" alt="pudgy.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/fade.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::fade::" border="0" alt="fade.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skulk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::skulk::" border="0" alt="skulk.gif" />

    I doubt it, but I'm no developer. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    Won't happen, but I'd like to think up game scenarios for a single-player natural selection.

    I could just imagine a game scene in which you and a bunch of buddies are laughing and smoking up cigars while playing poker in a security room for what is considered to be by your friends as "quite possibly the best-ass job in this sector," when suddenly a alarm sounds and some of your buddies look at each other with a worried look.

    They rush to see what the problem is, but they are reassured by the crew that the gateway had momentarily activated but that it was probably a fluke since there were no ships within range that could have hailed them, much less transferred onto their ship. They'd say that according to the ship's computer, the gateway had already closed itself.

    The captain, all brains and no brawn, decides a routine patrol ought to be established to verify that nothing was out of place. And thus your first mission would begin. You'd have to steadily grow in the game and not see all the lifeforms immediately. You'd first come across some skulks, and at the end you'd see a gorge building some sort of chamber. You'd of course kill them and the level would proceed to the captain investigating further as to where they came from, much to the resistence of the security team after their first exposure with these aliens.

    If a human element is added and the sense of unknown is kept, I think it'd make for a great game. Though I don't think it could possibly be scary for those who are already familiar with the game, unfortunately.

    Would be neat to go into the particulars, like the fact that one of the marines gets parasited, and he'd steadily get worse as time went on.

    Maybe Charlie, Max, and the dev team. <i>Maybe</i>. But they haven't said a release date other than "When it's done".

    It would be cool if they'd at least add support for player-made singleplayer maps/campaigns. I assume, though, that NS2 won't have all the fancy things HL2/Source has specifically for singleplayer (lip-sync, face muscle simulation, etc) since NS2 a multiplayer game. Even without those, I'm sure clever mappers could come up with some pretty awesome singleplayer maps.

    I'm sure NS2 will have face movement and all that stuff, since NS1 had it...

    People talking in Half-life 1 looked like ike from south park.

    What they said about single player is no official mode but they can see it being really easy to make on because of the Lua scripting and such.
