<div class="IPBDescription">Damn LCDs</div>Heya peeps,
Regarding playing half life in general, though I am asking about NS, I use to play on a CRT monitor working at around 100 fps. Of course, that was roughly 2-3 years ago when I was in high school and I had a desktop.
Now I am with laptop which obviously carries an LCD screen and has a max framerate of what, 60? Thus, I am curious:
Since bhopping is only really accessible at high framerates, what would you suggest one in my situation do?
I mean, it is possible at 60, but it just takes too much effort and precise timing. Should I whip out the old monitor and hook it up as an external monitor to the laptop? Or is there an easier alternative I am not thinking of?

Anyway:
Having a calculated fps of say 100 and a forced monitor refresh rate of 10 will allow you to faster bhop than a monitor refresh rate of 60 and a calcualted refresh rate of 60; in theory.
In practice it is pretty hard to get the timing right, when you only see 10 frames a sec.

Then there you have it; i'm having trouble getting the timing right at 60 frames per second despite whatever calculated framerate I might be getting.
Thank you.
