<div class="IPBDescription">seriously I need help</div>Okay so the thing is, the amount of people in my household just increased and with that the amount of time spent in Facebook and other sites too. This, believe it or not is lagging me to hell while playing TF2 and WC3.

Soo I was wondering if there is some evil way to ration the bandwith coming from our router or something. Help me <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

I'd think somebody is probably bittorenting, internet traffic itself takes very little bandwidth and shouldn't cause lag. Get a packet sniffer or something to figure out who it is. I think so routers also have the option to give traffic priority if it's coming from a certain computer, you might be able to use that for the same effect.

I'll put some stats in Google-fu and look it up. Thanks <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> Also consider that our internet service is pretty poor so maybe there could be a chance internet traffic is taking the bandwith D: Also no one else uses torrents, everyone else here just uses skype, msn, facebook and youtube <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

youtube and skype would take up a lot of bandwidth. Really you have to work out arrangements with your roommates for good ping, I had a similar situation a while back.

If you want to sniff packets for the fun of it, or to figure our who to talk to, I recommend ethereal. It's very easy to use and is free.

Someone's probably on MySpace; my friend's PS3 will start acting like it got kicked in it's balls when his sister gets on MySpace.

    enjoy

I used this to download large files while playing NS. You will probably have to sneek and install this on evveryone's computer with out them knowing. Otherwise they may learn how to change/use it.
