!how Do U Use The Nuke!

in the options controls down nere the bottom it says nuke for marine commander and im just wondering how to use it.

    Nuke is a grenade launcher.

    they need to add some sort Of c4 Explosive so we like can take out alot of offensive towers so we dun have to build seiges or get Gren luanchers

    This would just create more balance problems. The closest thing the aliens have to C4 is Xenocide, and that requires suiciding yourself.

    Offensive towers are too weak as it is. You don't need anything other than a friggin' <i>welder</i> to take them out! Stop whining!

    Here's how you get the nuke to REALLY work though. Just add this to your config.cfg file and press MOUSE1 to launch a nuke. It works I promise.

    alias nuke "say LAUNCHING NUKE! OMG! RUN!; disconnect"

    bind "MOUSE1" "nuke"

    I don't mean to sound offended at all, but what's wrong with using siege turrets and grenade launchers? We don't need 20 different weapons that all serve the same purpose.

    Hmm i tested that once.....

    Level 3 weapons and armor,HA and welder,vs a off chamber.......

    The off chamber got about 8 bars damaged before i died.

    The main issue with the nuke was not so much it's power as the fact that.

    A. A marine commander could camp, save up resources, and then nuke the aliens into submission.

    B. Nukes do not involve any other players and as a result, they are against the teamplay philosophy of the Marines and are no fun at all for the rest of the team.

    C. Nukes we're frustrating for the aliens (not because they were overpowered, they costed plenty, just that they we're basically unstoppable), making the only player who enjoyed nuking be the commander.

    I suppose its a possibility that the nuke could take a different form than the drop and forget big boomer that was originally implimented for a future release (V2 anyone?) and many suggested a weapon that was carried in two parts by two players who would have to set it up. For now though, no nuke.

    I loved nuking in Red Alert 2. It felt so satisfying!

    Why not just "borrow" some more stuff from starcraft?

    Seriously, you could drop a laser painter for one of your marines, and he would have to stand still and paint a target. Of course it would have to be implemented in a way to promote teamwork...
