Symbols beside peoples names...?

What are those symbols that are beside peoples names when I press tab to show my scores? I some times see country flags, and alien heads and other things. And how do I get to have symbols beside my name?

    there is a thread in this forum, stickied, that has all of the standard ones in it.

    anything you don't see are done via sever modifications.

    You can't get any of the standard icons except for the Constie icon (one by my name), which is for joining the Constellation program (AKA Donate to UWE).

    For the server modification ones, well, that is up to the server owners.

    well sorta.

    Some one altered it for me a while back to add in the santa hat (old joke around here was to santa-ify your avatar around the holidays). I totally lost the original file though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    and no, I haven't played NP in a LONG time, but I still love the little gif <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
