    Something about the word "serverroom" makes my geeky senses tingle in the crazy way. Cool prison. Much better than the one I stayed in har har. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" />

    negative. The point is to LOOK nasty so that people don't even THINK of trying it.

    Needs some multi-monitor gaming set up on those monitors. Stickman commands it.

    Are you going to get an elaborate and cryptic tattoo of all the work you've done so on the off chance your brother gets arrested for a crime he didn't commit you can get yourself arrested and break him out?

    Nice photos, that is some good looking hardware (and some intimidating fence 'n razorwire)

    <!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->The prisoners get two ten minute showers per day at their own leisure. I take 15-20 minutes showering....not every day though.

    Get some more up-close screens of the apps and programs and ###### they use on those computers. It looks suh-weet!

    Also get some pics of the tech they use on the cells. That would be even more awesome.

    Everything's running windows, unfortunately. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

    TIEM FOR PICKURARES AND BIDEOS.

    I took about 150 pictures today. I resized and resampled them, then cut out the crappy ones an saved them to <a href="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonpix.rar" target="_blank">this</a> rar file. I put all the videos into <a href="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonvids.rar" target="_blank">another</a> file. Here are a few choice ones:

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-05.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    One of my babies. This PLC that controls a ton of cells and doors. I <3 it.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-07.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    If there's a riot they drop those big bi-fold doors down to separate the three thirds of this cell wing.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-42.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    They get a big monitor to watch movies and TV, and some not-very-comfortable chairs.

    These are all from cells:

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-11.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    Bed! Not very comfortable. You can see their intercom panel there. They can call the master control office or listen to the radio (two set channels). The master control can, at any time, listen to the cell without any external indication of them being listened to. Nifty. Creepy, but nifty.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-18.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    Toilet, mirror and sink, all made of stainless steel. Everything in the cell is designed such that you cannot hook a bit of wire or rope over it to hang yourself.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-20.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    A shower head.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-21.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    A camera and a reflective dome that allows someone outside the cell to see every corner of the inside. The camera also does the same job.

    More to come!

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-43.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    Outside the door.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-45.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    Reflection in the dome.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-24.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    Light switch, request-to-exit button and a door!

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-26.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    One of the cell locks. The lock takes up about 2/3 of the space behind that stainless steel panel. They're big, serious locks. You can see the lock tongue there and another knob above it. That's the lock sense. The door won't read as secure to our system unless the tongue is out, the lock sense is in and the reed switch says the door's closed. It's damn hard to fool.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-27.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    Another cell shot.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-28.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    A view of the fence from a cell.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-30.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    Another shot of the cell wing.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-34.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    More fence.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-35.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    This is a buddy cell. Two rooms, two beds, two desks, two intercoms, one shower, one toilet. They put suicidal people in these, paired with a fairly trustworthy "buddy" that makes sure they don't try to off 'emselves.

    Contrary to popular belief, prisons have soap holders.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-37.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    Emergency fire exit. (Not an exit).

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-38.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    More fence!

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-40.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    Closeup of the big bi-fold door.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-46.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    Exercise yard. Includes chin-up bar!

    <a href="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/vid1.avi" target="_blank">Video of me explaining the fence.</a>

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-53.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    Along the inside of the fence.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-62.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    There are phones in the exercise yards that prisoners can use to call the outside using credit they earn working in the workshops. I think there's a list of approved numbers that they're allowed to ring. They can have relatives added to the list and whatnot. All conversations are recorded.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-64.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    Toaster and microwave. Very bolted down.

    Someone can't tally.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-89.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    Ooh, sky.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-91.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    A walkway.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-96.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    These chillers make cold water that's piped all over the prison for airconditioning.

    <img src="http://www.tjhowse.com/prisonpix/prisonset2-98.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    Between the inner razor fence and the tautwire.

    Stop showing pictures of razor wire already! >_<

    I need to remember this the next time I hear someone shoot off about how prisoners live far too luxuriously. Sure, it could be much worse than this, but a cozy house in the countryside this is not.

    Now I'm not sure how those things work but can't prisoners lick the socket were the microwave is connected to, you know, kill themselves? Less the contact is locked in place somehow.

    I'ma also wondering, what kind of tools do they get for eating their food? Plastic forks and knives?

    In any case, thanks for sharing, awesome pics, I like to compare em to the local jails around here, not as much tech, or nasty razor wire, but still much alike.

    Those are wired straight into the wall, no plug. And yeah, plastic knives and forks, I believe.

    Yesterday I wrote a program in AHK script that runs on the security stations that answers intercoms and unlocks doors automatically. Means we don't have to have someone up in the control room when we want to move about the place. Damn handy little app.

    No. They'll become despondent at the thought of just how secure this prison is, and give up all thoughts of escape.

    Yeah he'd have to have a link in his signature to tjhowse.com or there would have to be a post on some website explicitly pointing it out or something else unlikely.
