Will NS2 be getting TrackIR support? It would be cool if I could duck my head around corners and look around in game without pointing my gun in that direction.
you wouldn't happen to be referring to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-Uw
As cool as it is, I don't think it's a core element NS2 should have. Make a LUA plugin that supports it and I'll totally use it. Once I shunt out the money for a remote and a bluetooth connection.

apparantly its very easy to implement, but the trackIR costs soooooooooo much <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> i had one for a while and its really fun, but i just can't see more than 10% of NS players having them.
There are cheaper ways to do head tracking than TrackIR, like head tracking with a webcam, or head tracking with a wiimote. The price would probably come down if more games supported it.

That's a neat effect. I really just want to be able to use it with one of these though: http://headplay.com/

It had enough for Metroid. OK, it's crap for comms, but it has a trigger and nunchuck for WASD movement, etc.
There's of course some serious issues like how to actually move the screen to look in a different direction, etc.
