Remember that song from that episode they did with Troy doing a Planet of the Apes musical?

Well one day I was arranging my wires for my Sirius satellite as I was crankin' the 80's station as I heard this song.

Rock me Amadeus by Falco

Haha, so that is where they got the song from!

Yeah yeah, it's old sure, but I just heard the Falco song a week or so ago. It owns. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    Hmm, point of the thread?

Well, okay being german this is more or less basic knowledge for me, so maybe some random aussie might appreciate your "discovery"

Nah, don't let his grumpy germanness and his german grumpiness get to you! I welcome you to the fold of those who know that they are powerless to withstand the might of Amadeus. Let us bow in humble supplication.

    In other [more recent] news:
In a recent episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, there was a cameo appearance of two people from the Mythbuster's show. They gave a thumbs-up when the mannequin bursts into flame... In the same episode there was also a reference to the University of Florida taser incident (one of the characters says, "Don't tase me, bro!").

    Yay allusions.

I heard that there's a pop culture reference in the latest episode of The Simpsons. It's nice to see that they're finally including them.

I knew the song in that episode sounded familiar, but I couldn't place exactly what song it was parodying. Now I know! Thanks, this thread has enlightened me to my very core.

I figured out the ending to the Planet of the Apes remake a couple of months after I saw it. I was sitting around thinking about something completely different, and then it just came to me, like it had been beamed into my brain by aliens or something. As one of the 3 people who understand, it is my duty to protect this knowledge until the human race is ready for it.

    haha,

I thought they originally made their own song for that episode til I heard Falco.

Most random thread of the year? Maybe, but I deem this informative enough for any Simpsons fan and Falco fan haha.

In case anyone's wondering whether the youtube link should be clicked or not (and, yes, I think it's worth bumping the thread to give this advisory), therein is contained a prime example of the dirge of musical content to come out of that decade. When this song was first aired hundreds of synthesisers cried out in agony!

    You have been warned!
