Server-enforcment?

Server is enforcing file consistency ...
Before servers began running v 1.03 i was able to play ns fine. Since the patch, (today) im not able to play in servers that are running v1.03. I'm still able to play v1.02+1.01. When I try and log into a v1.03 i get this message in the console "Server is enforcing file consistency for models/shell.mdl", then get booted to the log in screen and this message pops up "could not complete connnection attempt". I have downloaded nothing for ns, have not altered any of the files. I've done nothing.... I've tried re-installing ns, and hl. Normally i would say screw it and forget about it, but i like ns.

Found the problem, its the high definition pak that is doing this to us.

    In half-life\valve you'll find a file called pak1.pak
If you rename it or move it, your NS will work fine.
    (I renamed mine "thisfilereallysucks" hehe)

I'm not sure what this messes up elsewhere, but hey I cant play NS now!

I don't have the Hi-Res pack installed. See the other thread about this, I posted a working shell.mdl there.

If you just delete the file in question and join any server it will download the correct replacement model from the server. Easier then other methods of repair I think.

Mine says "Server is enforcing file consistency for sprites/wallpuff.spr"

A screenshot here http://odiumcollages.50megs.com/buggy.JPG (copy and paste into browser to see it). It does this then it says cannot complete connection attempt or something. What can I do to fix this?
(Sometimes I can connect to 1.03 servers, sometimes I get the error. The error is like a 50% chance.)

That would be because file consistency enforcement is a server variable.

Something weird is happening here. I cant join servers running 1.03 with mp_consistency set to 1 too. I get this message in console "Server is enforcing file consistency for common/bodysplat.wav" Funny thing is that this file doesnt exist at all! And I have a clean install of NS which I didnt alter in any way.

Conmans suggestion worked for me. I deleted that pak file and was able to play v1.03 fine. So far, so good. Knock on wood. Thanks Conman!

Ive been able to join servers with no problems, now suddenly I am getting the shell error. I am using a completely clean copy of Half-Life. No modifications beyond official Valve stuff, like BlueShift and the patches.

Could this be a Linux vs Windows problem?

Installing the 1.03 patch fixed this for me. I would recomend everyone does it.
