I'd like to see remakes so long as they are done just. I think the css remakes were mostly done very well. While I plan on doing an original concept, it may be useful to have some sort of sticky post listing who is working on what. It would be a shame if there were 3 people working on the same remake. Anyways, hurry up with that tech demo release, my free time is nil right now but this summer I'll be looking for a side project and ns2 is the perfect fit <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skulk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::skulk::" border="0" alt="skulk.gif" />

P.S. Congrats to Matt working on NS2, he worked with us on Neotokyo for a while, he is extremely talented and I am sure NS2 is lucky to have him.

Great to see you guy's getting spooled up to pump NS2 out for all of us.

As much as I love custom NS maps (and I have most ever made ) I'm really looking forward to some unique NS2 maps mentioned in the pod cast . While your working on NS2 and to relive a touch of NS burnout I've been playing a little <a href="http://synergymod.net/" target="_blank">Synergy</a> Not pluging something else but as you mentioned unique texture's and mapping I though you might be interested in looking at someone's work who really excels I think at using texture's and lighting in his HL2 maps. His gallery only reflect part of his work. <a href="http://pandatales.org/pursoup/pur/" target="_blank">pursoup</a>

"You can understand what they are talking about?!?"

    "That guy is hot."

I asked her which guy she was talking about and she says "The guy in front." The guy in front was someone I didn't recognize from forum avatars, he was holding a netgear box in his hands while someone in the background has a silly grin on and giving the thumbs up.

    So, who is the guy in front and do I need to take a trip to kick his ass? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

The current NS maps are also interesting because of their unique look. That's not only because of the different mappers, but also the architecture and the different style. Combined with lightning and sound the NS2 maps could be really awesome with this technique!
You only have to watch out to keep the overall look of NS2 maps the same. But you're probably already aware of that <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
By 'the same' (I hope) you mean 'consistent', right? :S
    It's like I said earlier
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->You <i>would</i> just have <b>different locales</b> (created by the same artists, so their designs among locales should be consistent) <b>from one universe</b>. ie. you don't have a dark gritty abandoned spaceship, as well as a functioning bright disneyland-style amusement park.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Like the example given in the podcast(?), you have a spaceship, and a refinery; they're obviously going to look completely different (probably differ in size and colour scheme first of all), but there'll be logical and visual consistencies, eg. the same level of technology - probably best seen in maintenance screens and such.

A few remakes would be great. CSS did an excellent job with its remakes, and so did the Halo series.

I have been in a few offices doing photo touchups and simple editing, where we used cubicles. I can see your point with communication, but in any editing enviornment being able to square yourself off from everyone and everything else is a must! The first thing you will read about in any photo editing guide is not the photo work, but the lights in the room. I had to go out and buy these special types of bubls (GE balanced light bulbs), and then move my lamp from behind me to the side of my monitor.

I imagine with suond editing there is also ambient problems when you are trying to compare surround sound in a cubicle shut off, and in a room with three other guys clicking away, playing music, with furniture everywhere.... There is alot to photo editing and I imagine just as much if not more to sound editing, so they seem to have made a wise choice with their current situation.

Plus, it's not like they are in completely different rooms. They can easily talk to eachother by simply raising their voices: "hey Charlie!" And seeing as how it's a whoppin four people or whatever, I don't see how there is any room for confusion concerning who is talking to whom.

I would be willing to bet that when they are deep into editing or "work" mode, it is a HUGE help to be able to concentrate on whats on your screen and not be distracted by something else because it's open and you find yourselves talking for hours or screwing around (like we did), OR to have to say "hey charlie, can you turn down your monitor brightness again so I can see what this part of level texture 138 looks like in darkness..." Probably would end up at each others throats!

I don't even edit my photos during the day anymore.

Those cubicles were installed before we moved in. We talked a lot about removing them, but decided against it... for now at least. Maybe we can talk about the cubicles in our next podcast.

Oh, and for those who are wondering, Matt is the goofy guy with the white shirt in all the photographs, I'm the guy with the turtleneck, and you all know Max and Charlie. We'll have more pictures next week I think.

Congratulations on your new office guys <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" /> You really seem to enjoy yourselves there <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> It looks a hundred of times better than the last one you posted (I wouldn't even use this garage for jaming around with a band <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />) Ahhh listening to you makes me want to start my own company or join one which is still in the early stages of development and buy some office space, just for the feeling to start something new and great. Didn't the balance disagreements between casual and competitive players arise from the fact that the game was balanced for 6v6 (ie. competitive games)? Since that (balancing for 6v6) won't be the case anymore, won't a lot of the disagreements on balance disappear?

Flayra commented in one of these topics about that fact. And doesn't it seem a bit strange to you to alienate the majority of the player base in favor of the clan games?

EDIT: I can't find the post I had in mind, so I retract the first statement. Maybe I hallucinated it, or it wasn't Flayra.
