Holy Crap, Epic Games on Steam

<div class="IPBDescription">This is, what, the fourth sign of the apocalypse?</div><a href="http://www.steamgames.com/v/index.php?publisher=epic&cc=US" target="_blank">You heard it here first, unless you heard it somewhere else</a>: Epic's catalog coming to Steam. I didn't see this one coming: I'm 90% sure someone at Epic (Mark Reign?) remarked a while ago that Steam seemed a bad move for him because he'd have to give all his sales numbers to Valve, a competitor. Perhaps Epic's EPIC FAIL (lol) with Unreal 3 convinced him that he's a dummy, or something, because now Epic's on Steam.

That's pretty crazy. I'm actually not a huge Epic fan; I prefer Quake for my deathmatch and Unreal 2k4 (or 2k7 or whatever) felt like a Starsiege: Tribes ripoff without the jetpacks. And CliffyB is nuts for so many reasons that it would take at least a sentence or two to list them. So I don't think I'll be buying anything. But it's crazy.

CRAZY

I just hope some day, SOME DAY, Lucasarts comes to Steam. That will be a happy day. And maybe Stardock, but of course I don't think they'd give up their own online distribution service to use Valve's, unfortunately <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

Steam is gaining a buttload of traction these days. It feels like a Machiavellian scheme coming to fruition. Something along the lines of:

    1. Create massive catalogue of all games ever created
    2. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />
    3. Control the world

(I know that's not the MLA Accepted Meme Form™, but it's the Google formula.)

I <3 steam, i can get a game i want from home without going out 2 in the morning when i get off from my 2nd shift job. Major complaint i have against it though is that ######ty vac system. I got banned for having that bloom shader for half-life that was proven safe for over a year then one day BAM i'm banned, and their stupid ######ing staff cant even audit a VAC ban to see if it was a mistake because 'ololol our vac system is foolproof' /rant <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/marine.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::marine::" border="0" alt="marine.gif" />

Might be fun to buy a few Unreal games and try out some mods.

I've seen this pretty much every where else that I've seen this posted, and I can't agree more.

No Tycho. Only you can see the negativity in this, really it's a good thing.

Signs of the apocalypse aren't always bad things. Jesus coming back is a sign of the apocalypse and plenty of people look forward to that.

He may be coming back, but this time it's with a VENGEANCE.
