mouse click lag

I recently got a new mouse (Logitech G5) and in game, sometimes the server won't register my clicks. For example, If I shoot the LMG holding the button, the fire kind of bursts rather than streams. Or if I hold mouse1 while I'm a skulk, it will just stop biting sometimes. This is on a fresh install of windows so there can't be any driver problems with my last mouse (which was a logitech anyway). This problem is very frustrating as I often find myself in battle unable to quickly attack.

Anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong?

Okay well I figured out that this has something to do with my rates. On LAN games, everything is fine. On net games, this still happens. But if im on an internet server and I set my cl_updaterate to 10 or my cl_cmdrate to 10 (they are normally at 50, 120 respectively), then everything seems to work.
For instance, the way I test this is I go aliens and just hold down attack while I'm a skulk. If randomly some bite animations/sounds dont play but my adren goes dow, then there is still a problem. With updaterate or cmdrate really low at 10, no bites are skipped. But these are really low rates and I dont feel comfortable playing with them. If anybody has any ideas, please pipe up.

I've also had this problem for absolutely ages, it's really annoying so if anyone has any idea please help! It's like it skips a bit or pauses shooting for a bit, then continues. I'm also using a logitech, but mines an MX5

edit: for anyone wanting to see this in action, here's a demo: www.g-ham.net/lag2.dem

This problem is in the FAQ and although the steam forums link is dead, the fix should still work.

    While the game is running:

    1) Ctrl Alt Del
    2) Processes
    3) Right click hl.exe / hl2.exe (or watever is lagging)
    4) Priority > Lowest

    Hope this works for you.

I guess recording doesn't work here since you've got a demo of your problem. Everyone should try it anyway, it fixes quite a few bugs.

Ive been messing with NS and HL and cant seem to figure this out. I did a fresh install of half-life and NS, tried the low priority thing, and even switched out my mouse, and still no luck. It doesnt seem to be as common on the fresh install as my normal install, but still, it bugs me.

EDIT: I tried setting my fps_max to 111, seems to fix the problem somehow. Make sure to put -dev in the steam launch options for NS to do this.
