Ow, my knee

So I bumped my knee really hard when jumping over a railing today, it's swollen up and hurts to move. Lame. On the bright-side I just realized grouphug.us is working again, finally a way for me to waste time.

How is everyone else doing? Lets talk about stuff, and things.

Snow sucks. And so does the cold.

    The end.

I detailed my great room and the dark hardwood pine floors look awesome.

    I had arthroscopic knee surgery in the fall of '01 which was 100% successful. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

I'm studying adaptational physiology and medical virology right now because I have back to back midterms starting 8:30am on Thursday (and a smaller pathology midterm tomorrow but I'm ok for that one). I have to memorize a bazillion viruses and I hate it very much.

I also am extremely contented by my recent involvement of an attractive intelligent woman who brings a smile to my face when I think of her.

With their powers combined I am of a mediocre disposition, but as of Thursday evening I will be by vast majority a happy man.

Sorry about your knee, that said - we need more picture.

here is a pathetic bump I got from being hacked at in floor hockey:

I had the same surgery in like 97, and while it was successful, my knee has never been 100% the same. always feels like it's gonna be dislocated again if I put too much sideways pressure on it. and it *has* re-dislocated, on occasion <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> not for several years though, thank god.

I am hot and tired (damn people can't keep the building at a decent temperature)

However I go home soon, and I will continue teaching my self chainmail (I got EU4-1 down rather well, can't get HP3-1 figured out in the least, did a bit of Persian, which looks awesome, but is a pain and a half).

I am tempted to post up pictures of my ankle from when I busted it, however it really is not very nice looking so I will withhold them for fear of mod wrath.

I going to Italy tomorrow to ski <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> My second time around, went to same place last year. The village is called "Corvara" if anyone has been there. Unlike other skiing trips I actually look forward to this one, I've finally gotten a hang of skiing and look good doing so. The 24h buss ride is such a pain the arse though (literally and unliterally) <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />.

Well, I got HP3-1 down, the problem was solved by marking the 'upper' rings as I added them so that I knew which rings should go which way with ease. Now that I have that I can lay out the chain with out any problem. However I can't get it to STAY as a chain (as people say you can) with out just putting it down on a flat surface (or threading a string through the 'top' rings to hang it), and that is just pointless. It might be that the AR I am using is to large, but I am not sure. I was able to make HP3-1 sheet 5 from cgmaille, and that does look damn nifty and also hangs properly.

fiddling around I also figured out how to add HP3-1 as a fringe to EU4-1. Honestly, meh. Might look nice with the 2 begin different colours.

    Going to try and make HP4-1 tonight <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

I'm sick, it's raining (YAY! maybe rain drifting later), I have work later tonight and I was in extreme pain last night due to my left shoulder.

I think it's from the way I rest my arms on my chair. I feel a small bit of pain on the right once in a while atm, but it's aching a lil on the left. Thx god my ex came over and massaged my left shoulder or else I wouldn't of been able to sleep.

Was just playing Tabula Rasa, nothing with porn at all that day (<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />) and it started to hurt.
Speaking of TR, lets see if my auctions where successful!

HP4-1 is easier to do once you've got the hang of HP3-1 (obviously). You will have trouble making it stay in the "chain" shape with the wrong AR. If you pull on both ends of the chain, and it makes the proper chain pattern, then you're doing it right, and it's just the AR that's messing it up.
Closing the end of the chain properly will help keep its shape, too. I can't tell you how to do that though, because I've never bothered. I've only ever actually completed one HP thing (It's too "proper jewellery" for who usually buy my stuff, lol) for my nan (polished aluminium and red anodised aluminium, looks really good, and you're right, two different colours helps a lot), and I can't for the life of me remember how I closed the ends of the chain.

You tried the thicker chains yet? Like box, roundmail and Byzantine? Byzantine especially looks really good with the right colours.

A friend of mine does as well. Although he discovered it was way cheaper to bulk-buy washers from ebay and assemble it using two pairs of pliers. Ghetto mail FTW.

and I would be curious about what these 'washers' are (washers are solid), if they look decent and are cheap, mroe power to him (buying premade rings is kinda expensive)

That's what I was thinking. This forum is rather eccentric sometimes.
When he first said chainmail I was thinking chain letters. I was like "He conctructs pyramid scheme letters in his own time and the different styles have numbers?"
