Do you have an idea about the approximate date of issue of the first Beta of NS2 or the game itself?

Something else, Will this game will look like the first Natural Selection with real team game play or more like The 3rd version where we could evolve only by killing?

Thank you for your answers

Fredy5

PS: sorry for the english spelling, I'm french

For your first question, it will be released (issued) "<a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/faq/#faq-851" target="_blank">when it is done</a>". We have no idea.

As for your other question, I'm not sure what you are asking exactly, maybe someone else can help you there.

What fredy55 wants to know if it's going to be a combat or classical game... it'll be a classical game where you gotta build resource towers to get resources which helps you build and gestate more.

but it's been said that there'll be a bit more combat-esque gameplay - particularly, players will have greater independence from the team/commander to make decisions on how they want to play.

From what I understand, and don't quote me on this, is that development is leaning towards quicker games, but still relying on the same resource / building model. From what it sounds like, Charlie and Max want to tune the game to the point where fun things are accentuated, and unrewarding tasks or reduced / eliminated.

I'm going to quote you anyway :-p . I would add that some of the less fun/downtime things are being improved, like welding becoming a minigame. Also, I don't know if games are going to lean towards quicker. I would agree games progressed towards quicker with each NS1 patch but I think most of the "fat" has been trimmed from NS1 and I would be surprised if NS2 games were much shorter than current NS1 games. Also there has been talking of changing the alien resource model to match the marines, but the basic system of capture res nodes would be the same I believe if that's what you were referring to.

Thank you for your quick answers. Then if I correctly understood, the Aliens will have to "conquer" three hives while the marines begin where the commander wants to putt the "command machine" ?

    Fredy5

    PS: Very good, I stopped NS when it mutate to a combat game <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

Well, there's no guarantee of 3 hives, etc., but they've made it clear they want to stick to the original NS_ game mode. CO_ is not planned at all.

While some of us who like NS a lot may get angry at CO (which is also a very fun mode), we do need to admit it seemed to draw in new players and probably retained others. I think NS2 will be fine with a regular Natural Selection game mode, but I'm sure expansions to the game are no doubt viable to make sure it stays suitably alive (whether it be modifications to NS mode or addition of new modes).

It looks like they're taking the solid, original NS mode and expanding on it to come up with something familiarly likable, but new and fresh.
