<div class="IPBDescription">recommended games, and questions</div>well i got a 360 for christmas, and some of you might remember me asking for games to pick up. well i picked up a few and have found them all very enjoyable.

i wasnt really planning on getting any shooters because i find them a little frustrating on consoles, but i went ahead and got a couple

assassins creed
mass effect
rainbow six vegas
gears of war
halo 3

so far im least impressed with halo 3, it really just seems like your average run of the mill shooter. rainbow six has been awesome so far, but all the games have been quite enjoyable. i want to get rock band, but cant seem to find it anywhere.

my question though:

on the box the 360 came in it said i get a free month of xbox live gold, but i cant seem to find any redemption code or anything. how do i make that work?

Just make a silver account and you get a month of gold for free.

I believe you have to create a entirely new one, but there should be some way of getting the free month.

Also if you're a cheapskate, have any willing friends who don't ever plan on getting Xboxes to make accounts so you can use their free months too <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

And if you're not playing Halo 3 online or in co-op mode then you're probably missing the point.

The co-op is fun, but you really have to have the friend sitting next to you (like most titles). And multiplayer is dreadfully slow.

I also screwed myself out of my free month by importing my zune ID. if you do plan on paying for live gold, my advice is to get a card off of amazon or somewhere rather than paying full price with your credit card:

    <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Live-Month-Gold-Card/dp/B000B9RI00/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1198939530&sr=8-1" target="_blank">http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Live-Month-Gold...9530&sr=8-1</a>

I got one off of amazon marketplace for like $30 for 13 months, though it looks like demand (and prices) have gone up since then. but it's still cheaper than full retail.

IF you're into the sort of thing, <u>Eternal Sonata</u> is pretty good (from what I've played). The combat isn't too slow(for a turnbased game) or fast (for a real time...thing).
Other than that... you've named all the games I can think of on the 360 right now(that I'd purchase) Except maybe Blue Dragon... but unless you liked DBZ you won't like that <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
