Webbing for gorges

I was thinking maybe making it harder to see the webbing for the gorges. I remember it being real white and big. (don't play now becuz i don't have HL1 ne more) I was thinking maybe make it look like more of a spider web. Like you would see it from about 2 ft away but 4 ft back you can barely see it. It would also be kinda shiny so if it where in the light it would be more viable but in the dark it would be harder to see but still viable to where you could avoid it by shooting it or using you knife. Also you shouldn't lose your weapon when walking thought it but it should make your X-hairs go a little off target when shooting.

So what does any one think, sorry if this was already suggested.

    How would this improve gameplay?

Well, visually it would look better and it would look more natural. instead of big huge rope like things going from side to side. It could be something to do last i guess. just for visual effects.

well dumb marines would go charging in blindly and get caught - it makes webbing more useful.

You don't see webs all that much, when 3rd hive comes into effect - gg aliens win.
