Downloading old games for Wii

<div class="IPBDescription">Need some opinions</div>I picked up a Wii points card and immediately downloaded Zelda Classic (I never got to finish it back in the day) and I'm blazing through it happily. I'm stuck trying to decide what to get next though and I'm here looking for suggestions.

The only thing limiting my choices right now are the controller (only using the Wiimote for now) and the fact that I don't have the patience for long term RPGs (Shining Force for example). I'll probably get one of the Mario Bros but I don't know much about the NeoGeo or TurboGrafx games. Any ideas?

I got Super Mario World and Mario Kart 64. Haven't regretted either though I wish I had another classic controller or that they would let me reassign the buttons when using a gamecube controller... Super Mario World on a GC controller just doesn't really work... Run and jump buttons are not next to each other.

I've seen some USB adapters for the NES and SNES controllers, but why no adapters to hook them up to the wiimote, yaknow to have the oldschool controllers paired with bluetooth wirelessness (word?)

This virtual console is quite a marketing thing btw, rebuying games you already own. GG Nintendo <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    after browsing the list:

    <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Virtual_Console_games_(North_America)" target="_blank">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Virtu...(North_America)</a>

I had written up several suggestions and why I suggested them, and then I hit ctrl-W by mistake and closed the browser window, losing everything I wrote -_- so here it is again, in brief:

Castlevania II: Simon's Quest - my fave castlevania

Super Metroid - my favorite metroid

Super Mario World and Mario 64 are both awesome.

ActRaiser - really neat, unique god game, with some lame action game as filler... but it's worth trudging through the action sidescroller to get to the cool, oldschool god game gooey center.

I wish EVO: Search for Eden would come to the VC... it's one of my top 5 games evar

Streets of Rage 2. Best side-scrolling beat-em-up EVAR. And it has co-op.

    You can't go wrong with any of the games previously mentioned, and there's also street fighter 2 out I think, that's a goodie <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

OK people. He said very clearly in the opening post that he has only the Wiimote. No classical controller. No Gamecube controller. Ok? That means no SNES, N64, or Neo Geo games, and only some Genesis games. OK? Learn to read.

I say get Super Mario Bros. 3. Can't go wrong with that. And Neutopia of TurboGrafx fame is pretty good.

I dunno. Actraiser was fun, except for the sidescroller parts. The sidescroller parts were horrible.

For the record, Streets of Rage 2 comes under the umbrella of "some" Genesis games which can be played just fine with the Wiimote <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

I've picked up "A Link to The Past" and "Kirby's Avalanche" My two favorite SNES games. I will probably try Gunstar Heroes because I've heard so much about it from people on these forums.
