I have alot of ideas for this..
I think it would be cool if there was a vehicle in NS, even if it wasnt strong at all! It would get rid of the annoying walking all the time.. And also what about outside? Your in the ship flying and somthing starts chewing on the left wing. You get sent out into the nonatomospheric area with an oxygen tank on. The skulk jump on you and chews open the oxygen tube from the tank to you and you suffacate out in space.

sorry to say but NS2 doesnt look like its jumping on the vehicle and outdoor band wagon just yet.
from the official FAQ (under about section)
Will there be any outdoor environments?
We'll probably be saving any significant outdoor stuff for a future expansion or game so that we have the time and resources to do it right.
Besides, the soldier concept has similarities with that of a falcon or eagle, which could be incoporated into more tech than just their armour.
Trains are more like elevators with an extra bit more player control, but still restricted by whatever the mapper decides.
But yeah, the idea of trains would only work if the maps in SOURCE were a bit larger. I know they have it in HL2 singleplayer but they are several maps joined together and, until Valve can sort out way to remove "loadzones" from connected maps like that, it probably won't work for the time being.

But as you can see all the ideas refer to indoor trains.

I seriously doubt that these are proper vehicles, though. If you can't control them they are just placements or environmental obstacles.
As for trams; they definately put thought into the different possibilites! I like the idea; and I reckon they'll add it.
