Gamma Problem

alt+tab = low gamma , help
EVERY time I connect to a NS my mike input changes (due to the soundblaster live drive).
So I have to alt+tab to desktop, and select my recording device to match with the mike.

Then I alt+tab back to NS, press escape to get to the menu and select resume

Now the gamma is way down, and I really cant see that well.

Is there a way from the console I can get the gamma back? Seems tampering with the various values of gamma in the console gets me nowhere... It feels as if I need to run a video init command.

THANKS ALOT

(and as a side note, if NS crashes, im often left with a desktop in over gamma, or even a 640x480)

Alt-tabbing with Half-Life seems to produce a variety of effects. On most machines I've seen, alt-tabbing removes the sound from the game, forcing you to press escape to go to the menu, then press resume to get it working again.
Fortunately, on my current machine, alt-tabbing works without any side-effects! YAY!
Just be happy you can alt-tab at all. TONS of games use the Q3 engine, and that doesn't let you alt-tab AT ALL!

go into the HL config menu, go to the video options, and turn gamma, and glare reduction all the way up. other than that, nothing you can realy do, NS is meant to be gloomy and atmospheric anyway.

fixing the 640x480 is simple, just change the desktop back. Every HL mod does that when it crahes 90%of the time. And I've had that high gamma before, the only way I know of to get rid of it is to restart your computer.

To fix the abnormally high gamma on your monitor if NS crashes, just go to your start menu>Natural Selection>Reset Gamma.
