so the cover is hilarious, but what is the book? basically an episode of his show that's a few hundred pages long?

It's funny. As he describes it, his show takes only 30 minutes. This book is for the other 23 and a half hours.

    And it's funny.

You can acctually tolerate Steven Colbert in more than small doses?

The show is funny in half hour blocks... and it's funny in youtube clips... but that kind of humor is very wearing. All it is is a cynical imitation of right wingers, there's no variation to the joke...

Dude, he persuaded Florida Congressman Robert Wexler (D) to endorse cocaine and prostitutes on camera since he was running unopposed for re-election. XD

Which was perhaps one of the best moments in TV History. But I gotta agree with Swiftspear- the joke has worn thin on me.

Hey, I'm not saying that he's not funny... but it's like saying cake icing is delicious. Ya, definitely, but if you eat a bowl full of it plain you're probably going to get very sick of sugar for a while.

There's very little variation to the joke colbert is doing within his show, and that makes it easy to get bored of. Honestly, I'm more impressed with the kind of thing he does, like when he went on the O'Reily show and did the entire segment without breaking character for a second. TOTALLY owned O'Reily. That was quite entertaining... but it would have lost it's charm quite quickly if the segment was an hour rather than 5 minutes.

he's so awesome at thinking on his feet. best in-character improv ever. but I too must agree, it's only awesome in small doses.

Y'know I thought that would be the case too but I never regret turning on the daily show or the colbert report. It's one of those things that doesn't sound good on paper but politicians provide so much fodder it's still amusing 4 days a week every week.
