Or you could just buy the Sonic mega collection, should you own a PS2, which features pretty much ALL of the non-crappy Sonic titles. On a side note, I didn't find Sonic adventure 2 too horrible. I just learned to think of the levels where I got to play as Sonic (or Shadow) as my reward for putting up with the levels where you DON'T get to play as Sonic (or Shadow). It also has a fantastic final boss fight (no, not that one, the OTHER one) which of course hardly anyone who bought the game has actually gotten to, having given up from the .... somewhat repetitive aspects of the game.
Whatever you might feel about some of the recent Sonic abortions, you can't deny that Sonic <i>as a character</i> remains awesome. He's a blue hedgehog. And he goes fast. Really, really fast. What's not to like?

Even Knuckles is kinda lame. Why do they love their obscure mammals so? it doesn't even look like an echidna so why even call it one? looks more like a jackrabbit or something.

And regarding sonic, i'm a big fan of the games Sonic the hedgehog 1,2,3 and knuckles. But then they figured HEY LET*S 3D! ;D;D;D;D. and then:
