<div class="IPBDescription">just a thought</div>well i have been thinking the kharaa dont seem to have any medium class aliens they have the light skulk and lerk the have heavy fade and onos well i know fade is heavy but is nigh on invincible in the right hands and well the gorge cant fight they dont have anything that has a fair amount of survivablity but not too much damage something imbetween the speed of a skulk and a gorge is needed because it all seems to be to tough or to weak like a skulk or lerk against a HMG gone before you even see the person who did it fade and onos you can pummel them with one for a fair time before they die there isnt anything imbetween but personally i would like to see a larger lerk or something that can fly that is more focused on doing damage than supporting well please reply with opinions i would like to see what people think

Lerk is medium.
Fade is heavy.
And all you really need to kill a fade is chuck camping right outside of the hive.
they have the light skulk and lerk the have heavy fade and onos.
I know fade is heavy but is nigh on invincible in the right hands, and well the gorge cant fight they dont have anything that has a fair amount of survivability, but not too much damage.
Something in between the speed of a skulk and a gorge is needed, because it all seems to be to tough or to weak.
Like a skulk or lerk against a HMG, gone before you even see the person who did it.
Fade and onos you can pummel them with one for a fair time before they die, There isn't anything in between.
But personally i would like to see a larger lerk, or something that can fly that is more focused on doing damage than supporting.

Needed to organize that to understand it better.
So basically you are saying that the skulk is too weak against HMG's, while Fades and Onos's are more effective but perhaps a bit too high-level to stop a guy with a HMG. can agree on that, though upgrades usually helps skulks being competitive in the late game. personally i don't see a big problem with the balance here though, as domining says, the lerk is the medium, and it is pretty good when used correctly.
For 30 res you get.
Health: 125 hp Armor: 30 hp
Speed: 175 units/sec
Where skulks uses their jaw muscles, the lerk relies on its powerful neck to thrust its razor teeth into its target.
Damage: 60 hp/bite Rate of fire: 1.56 bites/sec
Energy cost: 5%/bite Hive Level: 0
This area affect dissolves organic matter -- specifically, marines. Lasts 6 seconds with a 225 unit radius. Heavy armor blocks spore damage.
Damage: 7 hp/second Rate of fire: 0.50 shots/sec
Energy cost: 35%/shot Hive Level: 1
for no res you get
Health: 70 hp Armor: 10 hp
Speed: 290 units/sec
A savage melee attack, and the skulk's primary weapon. See "Hints" for tips.
Damage: 75 hp/bite Rate of fire: 1.25 bites/sec
Energy cost: 5%/bite Hive Level: 0
Projectile that marks an enemy player (or structure). They now appear on your team's hive sight. Bon appetite!
Damage: 10 hp/shot Rate of fire: 2.00 shots/sec
Energy cost: 30%/shot Hive Level: 1
You still die in one shot to a shot gun, but your a ###### ton faster, have a full energy bar to bite at rines, since you didnt fly to them, and if you happen to land one bite you have done more damage than if the lerk lands one bite. if you get a parasite off vs's the lerks gas, or two parasites, one on one the sulk still has delivered a more viable tacticaly correct blow, as that marine after hes shot guned your ass isnt going to stand in that cloud for 6 seconds, two if your lucky so sulks 20 damage vs lerk 14.
So unless you flying and diveing makeing heaps of flying noise to get a quike speed, meaning you relie on silence, but without adrenaline your buggered also you dont have straff in mid air to dodge fire. so unless your supper cool and crazy awsome with lerk on super high mouse sensativty you relie on up and down movement to dodge fire in turn you turn a larger target area' towards and in the direction of your pray/attacker. fly backwards if you poke your head out around a courner too hastly? nope.
So your left with the main role as patroling scouting, slowing large groups of pushers, cleaning up messes, buying time or gorges to escape, waiting on fades to tail and leech.
If you want to attack you cant do it front on, your still reduced to courner hugging and vent siting waiting for noobs to turn their back to you.
SO yes I completely agree, there needs to be a new life form, note a lot of these are old numbers since then heaps of changes have been made to alien life form speeds to fix hit boxes, so in turn you may as well play a gorge.
lerk - support/light
fade - medium/assault
onos - heavy

This is NS2, we can have new alien classes. we cant just stay with the same old stuff.
Steve disagrees.
Lerk = Ultraheavy invincible elite warrior with a single weakness. Shotguns.
I agree though Aliens need a medium class that dosent die with 1 hmg clip.
