OldF no longer has an NS server

<div class="IPBDescription">and we'd like to thank everyone that's played over the years.</div>OldF has had at least one server running since about a month or so after NS was first released. As of October 1st, our last server had its plug pulled. <a href="http://www.oldf.net" target="_blank">OldF</a> will still be around mind you, we'll just be serverless is all.

I'm posting this simply because some people have wondered what happened to the PJ, as it had its plug pulled a couple months back after running since the first January after the release of NS (whatever year that would be) and I'm sure someone out there will probably wonder what happened to LS as well. Just in case someone was wondering. (We've had a few regulars over the years that may wonder what happened. I dunno.)
Not asking for any help or anything. The OldF servers were always provided by fogies with no expectation of financial help, even from other fogies. Most servers were often found in peoples basements or at their workplace. (LS being the exception. It was hosted by NFO.) We've known of this impending doom for a while now and we're ready to move on.
The reasons for the disconnect? Well, the sagging player base didn't help, and the server owners have simply moved on. LS was empty most of last month. People are simply moving on to new games. Can't blame them. I would if I wasn't on such an archaic machine! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" /> But, you can bet that we'll have a server up for NS2. You may even see us hosting a TF2 server or something in the mean time. (Side note: [OldF] is the ns community... apparently there are other "oldf" clans out there for other games. <oldf> is a cs clan unrelated to us, for example.) Besides, there are plenty of other good servers to fill still.
So anyway, I think I can safely speak on behalf of all the rest of the fogies when I say "Thanks for playing with us!" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
(Also, thanks to the devs that have had a great game to host a server for and build a community around!)
