<div class="IPBDescription">Y'know, why you publicly put it there..</div>So I thought there was an old thread about custom titles with who had them and what they were, however everyone knows you can set your own now. So what's the story behind yours, if any?

I forget quite exactly why DHP started frequently calling me McFur on IRC (after the old Trevor McFur) but it sort of stuck so I put it there.

    Back in the days of the old old forums, my username was "DY357LX".
    But then a new forum rule was introduced which limited the amount of
    numbers allowed in a username. (Some sort of spam prevention I
    imagine.) So I was forced to change my username and decided that
    I wanted upon this name to see if there were anymore Brian Lumley fans.

    Agreed, though I wouldn't say it's "dumb", just that they killed off a tradition of forum members doing anything/everything to try to get a custom title.


    It's fun to see how members try to get a custom title or get it accidentally. I lol'd at Badkarma's thread tthat landed him his title, Esuna/Zig/Allurhive's post count threads were pretty creative.

    Esuna made a topic with literally 4000 "post"(s) in the thread, and Zig and Allurhive did a 4000 and 5000 post thread together, someone go find that post.

    There were also plenty of other custom titles and member's way of trying to get one, I found most of it amusing but too bad the days of members doing creative things to try to get a custom title are over.

    The game itself isn't THAT obscure. The quote is, though. Maybe I should rip you off and give myself the title "To End the End a Master?" Frankly, that's a great quote.

    Still, I think titles should be given, not taken.

    Because custom titles used to be a cool thing that didn't happen every day, and now they've been cheapened? I'd be annoyed even if I didn't have a custom title.
