Just finished on hard (saved all the sisters). For the first third of the game I was freaking scared of splicers because they could still kick my ass. After I got natural camouflage and started wrench stacking, the difficulty got more manageable. Did anyone else take down Fontaine with the wrench? It was a pretty straightforward circle strafe while whacking on him with it. I think I actually took more damage from the security bots in the fight than from Fontaine.
Also, did anyone else think it was really weird how you finally get to use the little sister needle at the end and you actually get the ADAM you take out? After spending the whole game wishing I could pick up one of those needles and use it in exactly the same way on all the wrench-pummeled corpses I'd left around rapture, this felt like a bad decision game-wise.
The plasmids were pretty underwhelming. I originally tried incinerating people but that usually never killed them. So from halfway on, I usually just used telekinesis for traps, and target dummy to distract turrets while I hacked them. I absolutely hated the fact that they'd make telekinesis useless for some of their puzzles. Such as in Sander's theater with the plasmid in the booth. I was all like "forge pull..... Force Pull..... I'll get a little closer and a better angle. Force Pull..... FORCE PULL GODDAMMIT!!" They did that in 2 or 3 other places. So annoying.
I also hardly ever invented anything. I was stockpiling parts until something awesome came along. But was sorely disappointed.
I was so sure when I started the game that Rapture was going to be some kind of hell on earth because the of Vita Chambers. People getting hacked to pieces and regenerating. But apparently Vita Chambers are reserved for the immediate family of Andrew Ryan.
How come we never see any spliced Big Daddies? Also, Rosies definitely suck to fight. I can't even count the number of times I'd die before I even realized I was hurt, stupid rivet gun. Although they do have a fatal flaw in their AI which makes them quite a bit easier to take down. If you can find a spot to hide from them, you'll notice that they shoot their rivet gun if they don't see you, but they always stop shooting when they're about to throw a proximity mine. So all you gotta do is hide until they stop shooting, jump out, take their mine and toss it back at them, rinse, repeat.
Was anyone else curious as to why the security systems never locked onto splicers until you hacked them? I thought you were supposed to be more immune to security because of your DNA.
Random note about the beekeeping level. It's not the lever that generates splicers, it's one splicer for each hive you search.

I found that the game had tons of AI flaws with the chameleon tonic. I'd trigger an alarm, stand still, fade, bots come in and OH LOOK THEY DON'T SEE ME. Bad idea, I think- I could wait out an alarm in plain sight.
And Beekeeping: No, they spawn from the lever. I'd pull it, open the door to back outside and they would be there.

I've heard about 3 different endings, 1 good, 1 bad and 1 which is triggered by saving and harvesting equally many little sisters. No actual source on that though.
Wonder what the game will do if you don't save or harvest any little sisters?

so if you're killing sisters left and right, do you still wake up in what's-her-face's hideout after the whole Fontaine revelation? I kinda assumed she wouldn't help you if you were killing her little girls. but she still guides you for the last few levels of the game?
haha. True. I still prefer System Shock 2 over Bioshock, although Bioshock is good. Still, it's more of a FPS than SS ever was, with all the deeper elements rarely denting the surface and making it more than...an FPS, with wiggly bits.

Just finished Bioshock and enjoyed it quite a bit. I played it on normal setting but after thinking about it the respawn chambers made things a lot easier kinda like the spirit world in Prey when you died. If I ran out of medkits I would just let myself get killed repeatedly and just wear the enemies down without worrying about things much.

Two questions I don't remember seeing an answer for in the game. 1) Why was there no real hesitation when he used the first plasmid. 2) What was on the bathospere that supposedly had Atlas's family on it

Guys, it's a spoiler thread. You don't need to spoiler every line of every post <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
The first one I just attribute to the mind control wacky stuff; I do think it should have been something more like "insert arm to get plasmid" so that way you wouldn't be shooting yourself up 5 minutes after finding Rapture.
