Soloist Game Mode

Combat caters to a player who wants to dominate by themselves. Some do this for reasons of beating down the weak for purposes of gratifying their own ego. Some people do it because they like a challenge in a sterile environment devoid on confounding variables like teammates. Whatever the reason, a soloist game mode is not a bad thing, if implemented effectively.
I remember in Jedi Outcast there was a mode called Duel where two players would face off (no pun intended) until one was fragged, the fragged player would return to a spectator queue and the next challenger would approach. This system was also implemented in Warsow and if I recall correctly, was quite active in CAL for some time.
I'm not knocking team-based gameplay. I'm saying that there's probably room for both systems in different player markets.
Would the dev team ever consider a feature like this?

even combat, although you do not rely on direct teamwork, the whole teams input is helping towards the same goal.
