'The Hidden' style 'body flinging'

<div class="IPBDescription">idea</div>If you have ever played a HL2 mod called 'The Hidden', there is a feature in this mod in which the enemy can hang the dead bodies of marines on walls/celings/etc.

I thought it'd be nifty if aliens could do this in NS2, and maybe even use the dead corpses as resources by harvesting them..

Also some the enemy in this mod can use a 'vision' mode which allows for the marines/prey to be more easily visible (sort of a green gas trail following the prey)

This could be cool in NS2 also..

Heres a vid of the mod on youtube:

Using corpses for resources have been suggest many times before and a trail behind enemies existed in 2.0 called "phermones" (replaced by Scent of Fear).

Hanging bodies on walls, I can't see why this would be useful or have any purpose other then as a gimmick.

I think this is in violation of an excess gore rule, but i haven't seen the I&Srule thread in a while.

On an up note, if you could throw a marine player around as a Fade or Onos, and by doing so hit other marines, then you could have an effect simular to bowling pins being knocked around from an Onos charge. That would look cool, and could be usefull.

Maybe hangind them on the walls as trophies? =o

Like to lower the marines morale..

YOu come walking down a dark hallway and then you notice that the walls are covered in dead marines.... Dosnt make you wanna go any further, right? =)

It may have worked if it was single player, but in MP people die and come back after a short time, seeing dead bodies isn't going to be scary as they litter everywhere while you are concentrating on winning.

There might not even be ragdolls, NS tries to hold a Teen rating and corpse mutilation may prevent that. You will probably just fall over, lay for a short while, then disappear.

    heres an idea:

remove RFK except for when the bodies are returned to special rfk stations. this would work mostly for aliens, not so much for marines. think about it this way:

a gorge drops an "infestation building" or something. when a body dies near it, whether its marine or alien, the alien team will get resources.
this would also provide for a possibility of a cool body removal effect, as it gets swallowed by the dynamic infestation. also provides a better explanation for things than "nanites."

I like this thread, not entirely for the reasons you stated though.

Im a big fan of Serverside Corpses, that can block passages and such until they are destroyed or decay or......

Are eaten. i think all aliens should be able to feed on corpses. I think a skulk should be able to get a nice healthy little benefit after killing a marine and ending up on 2hp. Having to run back to the hive is worse than dying usually. Takes too long
