Gigantic, unwieldy swords thrown around like feathers? Check! Generic heroic MMO pose for when you stand still? Check! Crazy flashy effects when you attack? Check! Ice, forest, and desert environments? Check! Hoverbikes? Ch - wait, what?

The <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabal_Online" target="_blank">Wikipedia</a> page is about the most helpful resource, if you're European, because it's free if you're European but if you're a dirty Capitalist American pig then your version is "on hold" for vague, unspecific reasons. Wikipedia says there haven't been any updates on that since the beginning of this year. Perhaps the <a href="http://www.cabalturkiye.com/" target="_blank">forums for Turkish fans of the game</a> will provide condolences.

Good doggy!</div>

Or not. The <a href="http://www.cabalonline.net/Default.aspx?wbs=1.0" target="_blank">website</a> provides useful information, like the system requirements. (Radeon 9250 or better recommended but not required!) The graphics actually look pretty good, considering. In any case,

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->'MMORPG Blends Adventure Intrigue & Arcade Action'

Bad... doggy?</div>

So there's always that, and your jetbike, actually known as the Astral Bike RW3. The game's action-y focus is complemented by its crafting, which has 3 (count 'em, three) different trees to follow, although it starts out as one and splits in to two and the first one just consists of making materials.

Why play it? Well, Wikipedia says it takes half as long to grind up to high levels in this Asian MMO compared to other MMOs, so if you want to only spend half as much time grinding, then woooooo I've got a game for you. Also, if you hate Americans, this one's perfect, because they even check your IP and everything before they let you play. If you thought all idiots online were from the US, this game will help you test your theory. Finally, according to them:

What more could you possibly want?! Right, not another Korean MMO. Oh well. It's big business there, you gotta let them do their thing.

CABAL is the most enjoyable Korean MMO in existence. It's slick, fun, and the combat is very action-based. Also, you level through doing quests rather then grinding. If you combined a Korean MMO with WoW you might end up with something like CABAL. Regardless, it was one of my favorite games when I tested it, and it annoyed me when they blocked out US users. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

    Important question:

Is it only american users who are blocked, or can mexico and canada log on?

    I'm guessing no. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

So is it just WoW with a faster grind, or is there more to it?

Edit: I watched the video, and now I'm somehow reminded of Casshern.

I might try this. You had me at "Eurohate" for some strange reason - even though I dread nordic people for not all speaking danish, and the rest of europe for not speaking english.

Also: (offtopic) Does anyone have some good video stock footage I could have? I am trying to figure out the After Effect trial, and I am good. But I don't have much to edit at the moment.

    MUHAHAHAHAH

oh yeah there is a way to play this game by using HTTP Tunnel. I havn't tried it myself but I heard that you need to subscribe to the premium service for this proxy ($5 a month i believe), which is pretty pointless imo >.> Anyhow, this game looks damn sweet and I wish I could play it.

p.s. sorry for starting the flames in the previous thread.

I downloaded it the other day, just need to install and create account. Seems like a fun game. I havent really heard anything bad about it other then the typical "just another asian mmo" which ive learned to ignore.

Hack'n Slash in a slightly different wrapping.

And yes, just another Asian MMORPG. The only thing that they can do is hack'n slash anyway. But that's their style. I prefer a bit more brainpower in my MMORPG's and preferably such which has quests and so on. Heck, even WoW surpasses, and I don't exactly see WoW as anything but an European version of an asian mmorpg, with one hell of a wrapping.

Since Blizzard are American, doesn't that make WoW an American game?

That's what I use right now. I used Tunnel to access the game, but the 1.5kb/s cap for freebies sucked and caused a lot of lag. So I paid 5$ and got the high-speed service, I get 2 MB/s from it and it runs perfect. Almost as if the server is located in the US.

    I can also use the paid service for other things whenever I need a proxy <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
