Zig wins! Cheesecake is truly the dessert of the Gods and Cake rock.
seriously.
I love icing, if I had the chance, I'd eat it raw from the bakery. I used to buy the Betty Crocker spread and eat it in two days. Love it.

Cheesecake is #1, and carrot cake is right behind it.

Oh yeah, I always piss my g/f off cuz she goes to bake a cake and I've eaten half a can of betty crocker frosting...
I really don't like cake, and I almost never like icing. There are a few exceptions, the key one is that Butter Cream is god like.
Only cakes I really like are really dense moist ones (German choc) or really fluffy ones (angle food), and it must come with ice cream!
However, I did have some of the most amazing cupcakes recently, and from all places it was Starbucks that made em.
Regular (Well made) cupcakes, filled with some sorta fruit preserves, and topped with butter cream of the same flavor. That was good.
The last one is what my mum makes me for my birthday (she has been making it for years as she knows I dislike most cakes).
Zuccotto
Basically it is a trifle, with some alterations, And there are millions of recipes out there for it, the one we use is like this:
So layers of alcohol (triple sec mixed with a little watter and sugar) brushed ladyfingers, Whipped Cream, Strawberries/Strawberry preserves, and chunked semi sweet choc. Chill it overnight and invert.
so friken good.

Edit: Lamingtons are yummy too.
Vanilla Cheesecake, or a nice squishy Banana cake.

Granted i've never tasted cheesecake, since it's not really common here in Denmark :/ at least not where i live.

Homemade chocolate balls ftw.
Outside of cakes, whatever IHOP employee thought of taking cinnamon roles and French toasting them needs to be given several expensive watches.
I have no idea what it's called in english, so here's a picture.

If I had to guess, that looks like coffee cake to me. I'm not sure about the origin of the name, but it is probably supposed to be eaten with coffee.
pie > cake
*does what should not be*
pie > cake

After initially rejecting this idea... I have decided that it is correct.
After all, cheesecake is more a pie than a cake. It's still a close call!

Beefcake?

I prefer fur pie (not pictured)
Cheesecakes bear the most resemblance to a cream pie. Cream pies are basically just pudding or custard in a pie shell. Cheesecake filling is a custard with cream cheese providing the dairy, instead of milk. That makes the result firmer, but it's the same idea.
