just married
I play some days Ns1.
The bad thing what always happend is that the teams are uneven if one team going to lose.
So why you not implement an handicap for the team with more players?
Example:

10 Marines
versus
6 Aliens
So the marines get a handicap of 40% in:
(the percent number always divided to 2)
-10%Armor
-5%Health
-5%Damage
=
20%

Its only an example, but the handicap is needed.

It may not seem like it, but this would be almost impossible to balance. Two perfectly even teams can be unbalanced due to the skill of each person. Similarly, the team of 7 or 8 marines might be short manpower, but also might be highly skilled, and this "handicap" is actually just what they need to break a difficult siege even though they are down people, the additional damage combined with shotguns and jetpacks (to use an NS1 example) could allow them to win where there might not if the teams are even.

You can not frequently gauge the skill (or lackthereof) in a team using just numbers of players or damage.

Redford explained it better than I could and I have to say I agree with that ol' flying lemon. This may not be a great idea but you have the creative thinking gears turning and that's good. So please do continue to think up new ideas, but as for this specific idea -- for the reasons Redford explained...

some CS:S servers have an auto balance thing where it balances the teams according to scores, i forget what its called.. the server could get that if it wanted even teams (according to score)

well i dunno. I dont like the idea of balancing with handicaps because your system does not inspire itself of the skill of players but on the number of players. So with ure handicap, the new guys in NS would have a very hard time getting kills.

Yeah so i sort of repeated what redford said and i agree with him.

i wouldnt like to have that kind handicap in NS.
