<div class="IPBDescription">Halo 3's I Love Bees</div>So, quite a few wierd ones to get us started off. First, to get you up to speed(as this started 2 days ago):

Finally, for a quick synopsis to get people started/interested: <a href="http://hushedcasket.com/node/2051" target="_blank">http://hushedcasket.com/node/2051</a>

Here is Adjutant's newest post history.

<a href="http://www.bungie.net/Search/default.aspx?q=AdjutantReflex&g=5" target="_blank">http://www.bungie.net/Search/default.aspx?...tReflex&g=5</a>

Go from the bottom up.

Yeah, this is a viral marketing campaign. I remember back when ilovebees hit. Even those that hated Halo got into it. Its quality ARG entertainment. If you thought Year Zero was good, ilovebees would've blown your mind. So I wanna see what happens now.

A website getting passed around a lot:

<a href="http://27.com/" target="_blank">http://27.com/</a>

View background image.

More talk on the 27.com website: <a href="http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=11299627" target="_blank">http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=11299627</a>

Theories on Adjutant Reflex himself: <a href="http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=11285162" target="_blank">http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=11285162</a>

Theres a lot more. And tonite, at 1 AM PST(4am EST), he's coming back to say something more. Something big, this time.

Now, the current theory(and nearly fully agreed upon) is that Adjutant is the newest of the Monitor line(like 343 Guilty Spark). The only issue with this, is that he keeps calling himself a "Facilitator". That doesn't particularly make sense, also considering he seems to be recording and cataloging information.

And as another theories thread says(which I can't find), things add up to spell

Adjutant
Reflex
Compound
Intelligence

Arc Intelligence. The Ark. And as that theory goes...the Ark was the only thing to last through The Flood. It kept everything inside of it safe. And now, Adjutant Reflex is collecting information. Perhaps, to keep safe through the flood.

Also, looking through the posts it has made, he acknowledged a "Galactic Reset Button". Perhaps in fact, Halo may be thousands of years ago from our own time, before the last Galactic Reset? Whenever someone asks him what time it was, he responded with a huge number, which when worked out, came to 2007. The Halo universe is in 2007, not 2552 like previously theorized.

All pretty extreme theories, but oh boy, I'm excited. The first sucked me in, and now, I'm ready, and not a week late on it.

Isn't it kinda sad when a games' viral marketing is more interesting than the game itself?

    Yes, and no.

Thing is, while its viral marketing, its designed to be a game. And 42 Entertainment is, quite simply, the best in the business. Sony tried a small ARG for Shadow of the Colossus, but their lack of experience showed- it totally sucked. No one got past the first web page. A lot have tried other things, but the stuff from 42(I Love Bees, Year Zero, The Beast, Cassie's Book) are all expertly done and truly awesome games on their own, purely over story. Actual gameplay though, the game beats out.

For some reason, I'm jsut not feeling the excitement on this one like I was with ilovebees. Perhaps it's because I haven't been keeping up with the Halo books...

I thought I Love Bees was one of the greatest gaming experiences I've ever had. Finding clues in completely separate ways from any other, and piecing together each little slice of info into forming a story that was unbelievably awesome is beyond unreal, when I'm not only getting it free, but its not even a formal game experience. Even the ending to I Love Bees was awesome for me- Melissa's "Goodbye" transmission was rewarding to me, as a player. And so this new one really excites me too. And I remember when a large chunk of these boards got involved, despite the Halo affiliation, just because it was a fun game idea, done well.

And if you guys don't enjoy it, just don't post.

Saying viral marketing is boring isn't saying Halo sucks.

Viral marketing is still marketing, and it's still boring. Just like ILoveBees was.

ILB was a viral marketing scheme designed to get people hyped about Halo2. AR is a viral marketing scheme designed to get people hyped about Halo3.

this kind of marketting campaign at least takes some creativity and engages the audience more than spamming of ads or posters or paid movie appearences. I can imagine myself getting into this kind of thing, but if i only had more patience. I also would have trouble tolerating the idiotic fanboys that would be trailing this thing everywhere. I still toss around the idea of creating one of these trail-of-breadcrumbs internet games for amusement, maybe one day i will.

Nothing can beat ilovebees.com, just that subtle flash of 'ilovebees.com' at the bottom of the trailer where you would never notice it unless someone pointed it out sparked one of the best discussions i found on this site, took so long for everyone to figure out what it was. I remember people editing the sounds and all kinds of diffrent things to figure out the clues to the 'hacker'.

Lets try to keep the insults out of these threads. If you don't care for Halo or AR, just don't post.

Bungie has done this type of advertising stuff since Marathon, I believe. I know there's a link floating around that shows their campaigns with the old Marathon games.

IT DISAPPEARED IN A GIGANTIC PUFF OF SMOKE!

Seriously, what do you think happened to it? Nothing. It's still there.

Well, it just seemed with the way it was presented that there might be more to it than what was originally shown, I was kinda disappointed that there was never any sort of follow up <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

Unless I missed it, which is sorta what the original question was.

I don't have the patience for riddles, but I do enjoy reading a walkthrough for things like this when they're finally figured out =p
